kids aint safe these days man

and since when is it even ok to arrest a student for being insubordinate and/or disrupting class?

We need those kind of SRO's at DC public schools. If anyone has dealt with some of these kids in school or knows of a teacher that works with disruptive students you would have a better understanding perhaps of why the cop did what he did.

The offixer pulled her up by her neck and proceed to slam her. He didnt taze her or mace her . Disruption of class shouldnt result in the video posted

You dudes have to realize that the cop was called to the classroom for a REASON. It's not like the teacher called the cop because the teacher didn't like the shoes the student had on or the color of her shirt when she entered in the classroom.

If the student was being disruptive....which all signs are pointing to and was most likely the case then that's on the student. There's consequences in life and since she (the student) was disruptive she now understands the consequences of her actions/mistakes. Like I said earlier, if you personally know a friend that is a teacher like I do that deals with disruptive students day after day you would probably be less supportive of the student. Body slam or no body slam....she had it coming. Nobody has time to play with these kids out here.

So when a girl wear a skirt she deserved to be raped. That your logic. Foh with teacher deal with disruptive teens you know that coning into the field. A teen geeting flip over in a chair and dragged is not being disruptive. With the same force he chose to flip her with her could have just moved her out the room.

How about learn some deescaltion skills.
You would want you daughter flipped then dragged out for being disruptive or would you rather her be suspended.

 Deescalate the situation. Some of these kids come from homes where education isn't valued and that carries over to the classroom where they are disruptive and have no regard for anyone else.

Baltimore has paid millions upon millions to teachers who were beat up by students. I'm not deescalating anything. If a student is that disruptive, I'm letting security deal with them. I'm not putting my career at risk because they have no home training.

Because he is too small to be cuffed regularly. There's literally dozens of these videos out there. You could post them all day, but it just makes me beyond sad and upset.

If officer is strong enough to body slam shorty...he should be strong enough to drag her desk (with her in it) out the class room...that might've been the best decision tbh

If she doesn't wanna get out her seat, use your strength and drag her desk (with her still seated in it) out of the class room. That'll probably embarrass her more in front of her peers, you not laying a hand on her, and just leave her and her desk outside the classroom in the middle of the hallway
- Yeah, I agree with this option.  All Thug Cop had to do was use those muscles and drag the desk to the hallway with her in it, then school officials could have intervened / notified her parents and class could have resumed -- but that makes too much sense...and when you have all those muscles, they must be put to good use, like it or not.

-  Another option:  Thug Cop could have handcuffed her wrists and maybe ankles, while still seated, then lift her from the desk and moved her to the hallway...allowing class to resume.  Then, officials contact the parents.  No need to go all WWE, Thug Cop; Wwwwwaaayyy OD!

you're legit crazy

like nothing you wrote makes what happened to that girl any more logical. it's just a bunch of "stuff," but none of it is really addressing the situation

Kids from afluent backgrounds have the same behaviors even coming from homes that value education. Love it how Baltimore is the gold standard for justification of brutalization of young minorities but people get highly pissed of when school like duke and harvard are used when women and minorities are being raped and victims of racial slurs.

Rich or poor teens act up
Rich or poor teens dont listen
Rich or poor teens are living in the moment and need a finer handling tha ln being tossed around

This video shows its ok for ANYONE to handle a disruptive young women like this. This slipery slopes dont thaw themselves.

We a nation founded on supposed christian values yet we ignore the police state when it doesnt fit a narrative

A criminal shoots a kid they say OMG kids are of limits
Cops do the same with HOURS of training and they say THEY had it coming

Your not an adult if you can be the bigger person and handle a teen and figure out the why as to where their behavior is not aggreeable but it so easy to retreat in to the tower the tower of LOOK AT WHAT THEY ARE DOINg

You solve an equation by finding out WHY the answer is the best answer.

Anyone defending this dude's actions is a classless d-bag.  Straight up.

I'm not saying that the student was innocent.  But what she did certainly didn't warrant THAT.  I'm all for consequences when you act a fool, but taking the consequences to that extreme was uncalled for.  You reserve that **** for when someone is a physical threat to others.

The officer went overboard.  Simple as that.

- LOL

- I just thought of something; imagine if we reversed the race of all parties in the classroom scenario (White teacher / primarily white students / white defiant girl in desk / Black Thug Cop body slamin').

- Would the reaction from media / society be any different?

I think you know the answer to this

The white cop is being called a racist thug and the media is all over it from CNN to the New York Times. What are you trying to prove? The teacher was Black as was the Principal of the school.

Cop shouldn't of went that far

But I still don't get why people don't listen. And I'm not saying listen to the cop. The teacher and the administrator tried to handle the situation.

You guys are acting like she would have just stayed calmly in the chair while he slid her out of the classroom
roll.gif

I can't even imagine that. "Peace out, ya'll got me. Just slide me the rest of the way."

If they definitely wanted her gone, it would get physical at some point unless the cop jedi mind tricks her to leave. It's just the level of force was too much.

I would have opted to just double her punishment if she refused to leave since she wasn't being disruptive to the point of being noisy, but that choice is on the teacher.

- If you look at the video, the girl is not combative.  It would have been possible to attempt to slide the desk out of the room (with or without handcuff / leg shackles) and respond aggressively only after she legitimately starts to resist…he could easily over-power the girl if /when she resisted.

This is the stupidest thing I've ever read. And it's a lie...WE SEE THE VIDEO SHE DID NOT "FIGHT" THE COP FOH.

I've SEEN this situation MANY times...even when it gets physical it NEVER gets like this...grown *** man gotta do all that :smh: anyone defending this should be ashamed of themselves

Student Arrested Says She Was Standing Up for Classmate

I've been in school and observed schools and I've never seen security called for a student who doesn't want to participate. This is on he teacher as well as the cop. If she doesn't want to participate, write her up and move on. Deal with it after the class. People in here are acting like they've never seen a kid shrug off a teacher before. Did that end up with a body slam by a cop?

Nobody is talking about rape or defending rape. Stick to the topic at hand champ.

Talking about de-escalation skills....LOL. You sound like one of those parents that negotiates with kids in order for them to obey and to get them to do things. The student was told to do something 1 time and she didn't do it. After that anything that happened/happens to her is on her...outside of the cop shooting her of course. The officer was called to remove the student from the classroom.......mission accomplished.

Yeah why couldn't he just drag her and her desk out the classroom?

A grown man dragging a girl like that is terrible

Folks talking about..."why didn't he just drag her desk with her in it out the classroom"?? I'm quite certain that if there was video of this same cop dragging the desk with the student in it out of the classroom folks would STILL have a problem with that and still complain. I can hear it now....."the cop didn't need to drag that girl in her desk like that". Any kind of force used by the cop would be scrutinized and folks would be appalled either way.
