The Shield is 199 for 16gb and supports 4k (dont really care about that, but it is cool to be future proof), and Expandable Storage SD cards (I have a 128gb that I would use), also has Chromecast built in (which I currently use via the OG chrome cast Sticks). Also I see it supports all android apps via side loading, so I would be able to load emulators and ROms and stuff and play old school games and they run smoothly (wouldn't be doing this much but it is cool to know).

The apple tv 4th Gen is more so a big deal due to I use all apple products now (I use a windows PC for school/Work and a Nexus 6p as a work phone but Apple products are personal use), and they finally created an App store which is a big deal as from now to the future this opens the door for a lot of cool things on top of this will probably be jailbroken in the near future which opens it up even more.

Anyone have experience with the Shield? With Apple I know what I`m getting into, but with Android TV Google is known to release stuff and never build on it (I have a Google TV and it is a mess, and outside of TV function the other features are damn near unusable).

Thoughts?

Sounds like you already know what's better....

You list all these awesome things for one, and absolutely nothing for the other.

I`m just thinking Long Term, Google devices usually start out good but they never build on them, and then lose support shortly after. My Google TV started out good, and it went down hill shortly after.
