Chipotle closes 43 restaurants due to E. coli outbreak

Walked past 2 chipotles in Manhattan during lunch hours..never seen it that empty at any of the locations here

probably the end of chipotle...don't see em coming back from this one

This is a disaster for the company.

The stock price got cut in half in 3 months. How do they even fix this?

Still eat Chipotle 5-6 times a week, don't see myself stopping anytime soon. Convenient, decently priced, fresh and always tastes good.

I had Chipotle like 2-3 times a year....max. Living in LA makes it more of a weird craving, or convenience . Not gonna be missed at all.

I hate that this is happening. They were the first truly big fast food chain to try and become a fast food chain with morals. Regardless of what you think about their taste, I loved that they tried to get us away from the notion that fast food had to be unhealthy, processed garbage that kills us from the inside.

Good start to a changing industry.

I'll stick with my $5.11 Super Taqueria burrito for now.

Their **** isn't even like they say. They get their food from us foods and Reinhard. Ain't nothing good coming from those two company's. It's all just marketing. Those two purveyors are straight bottom of the barrel garbage. Getting chickens that have 40 broken bones in them when you butcher them like they played soccer with it after they killed it.

You can twist "local" any way you want it. They aren't copping from any family farm.

The E. coli came from something they got from one of their suppliers. It wasn't even their fault really but still chipotle isn't what they act like it is at all. They support purveyors known to be straight trash.

I don't doubt it mplsdunk mplsdunk

I read that the only prerequisite needed for a company to market their products as "pasteurized" is that they only have to have a SINGLE door in the barn that allows the animals to go in/out

Thank you for the info

I just go to Dos Toros now.

Unless I find out they got the same suppliers cause I have no knowledge of ish like that.

Pasteurized means steamed essentially to kill germs.

Pasture raised I'm sure. No one ever raised hogs in a pasture. I don't care what you say I won't believe you until I see the farm. Only really small scale does that because they are so smart and hard to round up and will escape.

Same with chickens. They get brown eggs from seeing sun. A lot of then just cram them in coups outside.

Most mom and pop shops aren't going to get stuff from us foods. Us foods won't split cases and try to bully you into buying too much stuff when other companies will send you exactly what you need. For example cilantro. No one needs a case of cilantro. It will go bad too quick unless you are a huge resturant. Their sales reps are trash too. they know not to even come around my spot after my dude threw their product list away right in front of their sales rep immediately.

Sure Applebee's is fine to buy from them but if you say you're serving healthy food and I see a us foods truck unloading you're a liar in my eyes.

Yeah, pasture raised is what I meant

Wow, did not know that about brown eggs.

Not everyone does that to their chickens but some do. There are also really good chicken farms. Kadejan is one here that's got the danks. Raising chickens is super easy and cheap. That's why I don't get why everyone doesn't free range them. If you lose a few who cares, they are free and eat bugs.
