YANKEES OFFSEASON THREAD: Lock This

nice work on the first post @Essential1

I really wonder what Cashman does this year to improve the lineup. Do you guys trust Refsnyder at 2b?

As for Refsnyder.. Defensively, no.. As a #9 hitter, he can't be much worse than Drew, and all indications from his rise in the minors is that he knows how to approach an at bat.

Yankees Sell Right-Hander Martin’s Contract Rights To Japanese Team

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Yankees have sold the contract rights of right-hander Chris Martin to the Nippon Ham Fighters in Japan for $750,000.

The 6-foot-8 Martin was 0-2 with one save and a 5.66 ERA in 24 appearances for New York this year. He made 16 appearances for Colorado in 2014 and has a career 6.19 ERA.

In other moves Wednesday, the Yankees added right-hander Vicente Campos to the 40-man roster. They also reinstated righties Domingo German and Chase Whitley, lefty Jacob Lindgren and outfielder Mason Williams from the 60-day disabled list.

Sabathia had a Good Morning America interview air just now, post-rehab. Will try to find a vid later today.

I'm starting to think this will be an off-season let down year. I know Cash normally holds it close to the chest, but it really feels like this year will be like last year.

Which is even more disappointing when you look at next year's Free Agency, see the names and it's really just relievers and a bunch of crap on the market.

Then add that there are multiple top tier Free Agents on the market without a Draft Pick attached, and you get even more disappointment.

I hope Cash fools me like he did in 2014, even though the Cano stuff hurt me.

Figured I'd post this here, but just saw on Hot Stove that Sweeny Murti said a "rival executive" said the Yankees are going to aggressively shop Beltran. They'll probably have to eat some of the money owed and potential landing spots are Tigers, O's, White Sox, Angels, Twins, and Athletics.

Sign me up. IDC about his 2nd half stats from this season.. if we free ourselves of him it's one less grandpa on the team.

He didn't mention anything about them going after anyone. Just said that they wanted some flexibility cause right now every position but 2B is filled.

I'd eat half of it. Can't say that Beltran isn't worth $8mil, even maybe as much as $10mil

I'm surprised the Royals don't still want him. Would give them flexibility to replace Rios who Beltran is much better than offensively and while he stinks on defense, Rios isn't great from the quick minute look and another bat to sit Kendrys from DH on occasion.

i assume we only sign Heyward if we trade Gardner/Ellsbury/Beltran right?

Didn't say anything about a trade of one of the 3. But with Chris Young predicted to re-sign, I'd assume so. It would be either Gardner or Beltran.. Won't be Ellsbury unless it's the Cubs and he agrees to it.

Zobrist is :pimp:

I think he's gonna stay put in KC. Great player, wish we got him at the deadline. Would instantly solve our 2B problem, and he can play elsewhere if need be.

Landing Heyward would be awesome. I'm all for that move.
