Chapman, Betances & Miller were 1-2-3 in K's out of pen. K/9. Swing & Miss %.



Also the fact that we traded Justin Wilson & Adam Warren makes me think we're less likely to trade Andrew Miller.


Miller has 3 years left on his deal.. Chapman has 1.

Trading Miller unless you get the King's Ransom would put us back to a pen that will need a lot of innings from Dellin & Chapman. And now subsequently weak in the middle of the pen because now it's Shreve & Pindar & Mitchell


Trading Miller makes even less sense because you could have had Miller & the 4 prospects for something else. Would make no sense at all.

Current 25 Man Roster, as I see it (Mitchell, Pindar & Refsnyder only guys not a lock):

Included 3 guys we could see this year due to injuries, or become everyday players next year.



Still Think we need someone in between Pineda & Severino.... (Gardner, Nova & Ackley + prospects available for that).
Move to a 6 man rotation.
Go after Upton or Cespedes 5 / $110mil. It's getting to the point where the market is killing them, and you may sneak out with a decent deal.

can't see us going after Upton unless Gardner is traded.

Cashman doesn't wanna be stuck with 5 outfielders
 
I really think that we're entering a point in time where Upton & Cespedes' deals may end up being too good to pass up.

I don't think they are 6-7 year deals anymore. I think it's now 4-5.

And if they are 6-7 year deals for either. It's gotta be below $20mil.

Carrasco's a borderline (or already there) top 10 pitcher with 2 years of control and 2 options...he's gonna cost a good amount.

i want Upton. his asking price has definitely dropped & we can afford to take on a short term contract
 
I think Cespedes is the big domino. If he signs in Detroit, I think that makes us the favorites for Upton. I think if CHW makes a big move for Cespedes, we're gonna be in a bidding war for Upton and I really want no part of that. Fowler signing somewhere outside of LAA or SF helps too because that opens up two really good trade partners for Gardner who aren't gonna spend for Upton.
 
Span to SFG. Which eliminates a trade partner, means Fowler goes somewhere else. And also someone out on Cespedes


Seems like it's just the Angels, Tigers, White Sox looking for an OF.

I'm convinced O's end up just staying with Davis and go nowhere else.
