I think Upton is the target on the low for the Yankees. Let's see what they get back for Gardner. Winter Meetings are next week (might be there *fingers crossed*), I think a lot of **** goes down next week.

i really wish we'd go after Heyward though

I would have loved him but he's pretty much a lock to go back to St. Louis now. They missed out on Price, I don't think they're gonna use that money on a starter. They'll just shift it over to Heyward.

Yeah I would have passed on Shark when it was like $70mil... $100mil, definitely not.

I think people are sleeping on him. For $100mm, he can kick rocks. For a 4 year deal at $15mm - $18mm, I ******* love it.

I'd move Judge for Fernandez. Just sign Heyward then Harper in two years. I wouldn't include Severino whatsoever though.

Judge would limit what I'd be willing to give... They'd get no other prospects, just guys that we'd want to clear out of here.

With Judge:
1. Aaron Judge
2. Brett Gardner
3. Ivan Nova
4. Adam Warren (Don't want to get rid of him, but it'd help a great deal to getting something done, and he's not the difference between playoffs or not, just is a depth guy now).
-Would then have to go all in on Jason Heyward or Justin Upton

Without Judge:
1. Jorge Mateo or Luis Torrens
2. Brett Gardner
3. Ivan Nova
4. Adam Warren
5. Jack Cave
6. Mason Williams or Tyler Austin or Slade Heathcott
-Although it is a stupid strategy, we can pass the buck on spending, shed like $10-15mil in salaries, also allows us to not give up anything we truly need this year. Can go after some bullpen depth and a 4th outfielder.


From what I read they also want some contribution right now, only way they can really sell trading him.

i like the deal. Warren was a nice piece but we needed an everyday 2B badly.

Think this means Robbie Refsnyder ends up on the block..

Got 4 years of contract left on Castro, who is a better fielder at 2B. Better power... Ref has a better eye, and could end up as a better contact guy.

Current 25... Only tough thing was finding the 2 RHP out of the pen. But as of right now this is where it stands. If they had a bday before April 1st, I added the year.

Included the two guys who will be on the roster in 2017.

1. Go after a Right Handed Arm in the Bullpen. Can just wait it out if they want.
2. Offer up Jorge Mateo, Robbie Refsnyder, Brett Gardner, Ivan Nova and see if that gets us Jose Fernandez (That would be our # 2 & #4 prospects according to MLB.com). I'd throw in 2 of Jack Cave, Mason Williams, Slade Heathcott & Tyler Austin to boot.
3. Go after Justin Upton. 6 year / $22.5mil first 4 seasons. Then $15mil each the last 2.

Means you end up adding Jose Fernandez, Starlin Castro & Justin Upton for the cost of $15mil that first year.
