It's pretty bad. I defended Spike's approach to the movie but the execution was god awful. If he would've toned down the satire a bit it would've been better.
The story and message itself was good, so it wasn't all bad.

How bad can it really be? It was one of the best reviewed movies of the year. 82% on Rottentomatoes.

It's pretty bad. Critics are just focusing on "the message" of the film...rather than the actual quality. A movie about Violence in urban America, especially Chicago done by Spike Lee is going to be critically acclaimed regardless of the actually execution of the film. Straight outta Compton is a 88% on rotten tomatoes. That movie was average at best.
With Chiraq.....you get a corny, dated, poorly acted film.

guessing a lot of people, like people in this thread gave it a 1/10 without watching it
RT average critic ratings are usually the best way to go, it has a 7.5/10

This movie isn't as bad as people are trying to make it seem. It also isnt the best. Nick cannon was not bad in this movie, there were long stretches where he wasnt even in it. I really wasn't feeling the ending, but other than that I enjoyed it. If it wasnt called chiraq then people may have been able to watch it without bias.

This is one of the most badly "Acted" movies I've ever seen. Nick Cannon and that white dude were the only ones who seemed committed to their roles. Which is sad cause the cast wasn't bad, they were just trying so hard that it ended up looking horrible.
I mean what was the message behind the whole "sex strike" angle. That women could save the world by withholding sex? That was such B.S. and may actually be a harmful logic for many women in war torn, poor areas of the world. Most women who are raped are raped during times of war and abject poverty.
I needed a translator for Sam Jackson, I straight up couldn't keep up with anything he was saying.
The music was horrible. That Chicago song in the beginning was a nightmare.
Highlights of the movie:
Wesley Snipes making a come back, for better or worse.
Crippled gangsters still gang banging.
The white preacher in the church scene was great.
The confederate general.
Dudes becoming psychotic cause they haven't had sex in 3 months. Most NTers would've survived...(I'm playing, not rly)

This movie was mad cheesy. I was sitting in the theatre hoping that it would hurry up and end. I didn't want to leave because I was hoping that it would get better but it never did.

...the first scene with Angela Basset and the female lead together in Angela's house was dope, Dave Chappelle had me laughin', Nick Cannon is a much better actor than people give him credit for, and seein' Cocaine Lorraine naked was cool...
...but other than that - this **** was pure garbage.
Seriously man, some parts are just truly cringeworthy and embarrassing - Spike is still that dude, but he Odell Beckham'd the **** out of a L on this one...
