i was hopeful when I heard about this movie but...

this is some Baz Lurhmann style bs

I was not expecting it to be like that like they really turnin all that violence into sum silly movie lol.

Those youtube vids wit The actual dudes in Chicago go harder than this.
Like those early keef documentaries

Suppose to be a comedy??

I wanna see an interview with spike about this movie

Lot of folks in it huh

Looks like a typical spike lee styled movie. I guess maybe you guys wanted a chief keef apartment style Worldstar quality.
yeah he does some hyper stylized stuff this looks like more than usual i guess this just looks like a missed opportunity to me

when I first heard he was doing it i wasn't aware this was what he was going for

I agree
I also think the drill beats as oppose to his normal jazz instrumentation color the movie differently as well. I got a feeling the movie will be way better that the trailer.

i get the satire he's going for lol

i remember reading this was going to be a musical a while back though so i'm a little confused

This has been a long time coming but wow Spike, he went left with it.

It's obviously a satire but that trailer makes it seems like Spike wish he directed Dear White People. I hope it ends up being Bamboozled good so I can stop feeling like Spike fell all the way off.

I mean women in the Chi are tired of the killing so they decide to stop giving up the yambs until the killing stops?

Worst of all Nick Cannon being in this made me completely tune out.

Spike terrible now. Looks like a bad attempt at a QT movie
It definitely doesn't look like that  Nothing about that trailer looks like bad QT.

I read that this is going on Amazon Instant Video shortly after a limited release.

Is this the movie he had a crowd fund for?

lmaoooo Spike stealing ideas

Not from these ****** he's not. It's an old comedy. REALLY old. Ancient Greece old.

Spike ain't trying to hide it either. One of the characters is named Lysistrata so he's obviously paying homage

Yea this is based off an Old Play, but this also happened in Real Life In Liberia (Google "Pray the Devil to Hell" I think thats the name of the story), where the women withheld sex from men to get them to stop fighting in the Civil War.

This looks Good, I can't take Nick Cannon Series as a goon, but I guess it adds to the nature of it being Satire. Lol And NT is the last site I`d expect majority to enjoy a Spike Flick not named He Got Game.

First frame of Nick Cannon and I was done. This is for white people that wished The Wire wasn't so "urban" and think Drill music is "fascinating."

I mean, I get the hyperbole, but I honestly think he saw an opportunity to make a piece of satire set in a time/place everyone recognizes and has opinions on.

It's like wanting "Higher Learning" but you get "School Daze". School Daze is classic, and tackles huge issues, but it's a complete farce in terms of it's tone, but that's fine because everything doesn't have to be realistic or serious.

I think people are expecting something other than what Spike is trying to bring across from this movie.  Based on the origins of the plot, with this modern day twist it seems promising.
