Talib Kweli, the Brooklyn rapper and Black Star/Reflection Eternal member, and 9th Wonder, the North Carolina producer and former Little Brother member, have been vital parts of the indie-rap underground for a very, very long time. And now they’ve joined forces for Indie 500, a new release that’s really more of a compilation than a traditional album. Both guys aren’t on every song, but they do include a whole lot of guests from across the indie-rap landscape. They’ve already debuted the Rapsody collab “Every Ghetto” on The Tonight Show, and the album also has appearances from Pharoahe Monch, Atmosphere’s Slug, Brother Ali, Problem, Planet Asia, Bad Lucc, and many others.

Features are looking dope

Slug & Brother Ali, Planet Aisa, Monch. Gonna check for it just for the features alone, cause Kweli is damn near as hard to listen to as Eminem these last 10 years.

Other than that 2010 Reflection Eternal album (which is really good) and that 'Attack The Block' mixtape from maybe 2012 (pretty good), it's been a very long time since I listened to any full length stuff from Kweli. It's not that I'm not a fan of his or anything, but he's just flown under the radar, with his lane being taken by other (more appealing) dudes. I'm looking forward to this though.

This is ******* amazing.

Keeping it all the way real...

...this may be Talib's best project since Liberation.

Don't Be Afraid =
