Agreed re. the quality, however, my FR 5s (black tongue) do look amazing.  I'm not into selling, so I'll just hang onto them.  And I don't see myself buying a new version of a shoe I already have that is wearable.  Just no way to wear them all.  Even if the black infrared 6s re-released with better materials and NA, I wouldn't cop; I'm very happy with the '14 release, and a black on black NA just isn't worth it.  Not he same impact as NA on 3s, 4s, or 5s.

I wish I could feel this way but I'm a sucker for that Nike Air branding..

EB pair came in. All good over here. a little more than I cared to pay but for this kind of quality and factoring in how long they'll last I'd say it was a good buy. that being said if i knew they would have that many pairs i would have went to the mall & copped or waited for free shipping. That being said as soon as I think the next big release will be the same I'll get left out on release date and have to pay resell. :rolleyes Like that boy Swizzy said "on to the next one".

Looking at the tongue of my 2016 pair, it looks like they did use better reflective material, but I don't think it's the official 3M material used in 2000 and earlier.
Someone posted a video comparing the 2000 pair to the 2007 version, and the jumpman literally disappears because the 3M is so bright.

Elementary school playground busted.

all jokes aside tho, im very appreciative for the mass production of this shoe. i copped with ease online and my homeboy missed out because of lack of funds and he still was able to secure a pair today for retail.

It's definitely a different tongue.

The tongues on the 2000s and OGs seem to be Durabuck coated with 3M.

The '07s and '11s might be whatever Nike used as Durabuck during those years, but the coating was different and less reflective. The black Toro Bravo Vs seem to be coated with something similar.

The tongue on the '16s seems to be some kind of synthetic material, but the 3M seems to be part of whatever material this is. In other words, not just a coating. So I'd think these tongues are built to prevent from chipping, patching, and degrading over time. I'm all for better durability.

Me too. I might even go hunting locally for another pair or two. Can't have too many of these.
