Nike Air Jordan Retro Metallic V - 7/23/16

Love these 2 much had 2 go 2 the mall and scoop another pair for when my current ones pass. I never collected sneakers, so any help greatly appreciated on how to store em. I was just gonna remove and the guts and paper and junk inside the shoes and wrapping paper and just keep em stored in the box in my closet. Should I be good or am I missing something? Thanks

If you're storing shoes that you're not going to wear right away, for these anyway, either get rid of the dark plastic wrap and tissue paper and just store the shoes in the box without it, or ball it up as tight as you can and put it in the corner of the box.

For Vs, for pairs that I wear, I just store them loose in a dark closet every second that they're not on my feet. I don't even bother putting them back in the box. It's all about shielding them from ultraviolet light. Light is the absolute worst thing for Vs. It's worked well for my Grapes which are well worn (see the creasing on the toe boxes) and going on 4 years old with zero yellowing, not to mention both my worn Toro Bravos:

These are awesome from a detail (except for the 23) and looks p.o.v. but tbh, they are hella uncomfortable smh.

Received my pair from snkrs last night. First time in a long time that I can say that I have a flawless pair. No excess glue. Everything is on point.

These have the least glue that I have seen in a couple years. Paint and glue are on point.

Want to see some lace jobs.
Straight bar lacing
LL

I only do it with the 1s and 3s-5s.

Cool thanks for the response. Just another quick question. Did you keep the stuffing/toe shaper things? inside the shoes or take it all out? And ok to keep them laced or should I remove? For the unworn pair I already removed the tissue paper the shoes came wrapped in but kept them boxed as is, and chilling in my closet. No zip lock bags no silica packs.

For indefinite storage, I keep the cardboard "feet" and the tissue paper underneath them in the shoes to maintain the shape. Just like if they're fresh from the store.

If they came factory laced I leave them like that (fun fact - the 2000 black Vs did NOT come laced).

I do NOT use plastic bags, silica packs, nor do I ever shrink wrap anything. I don't believe a highly excessive amount of moisture is a good thing, but I do believe the TOTAL constriction of nearly all oxygen and moisture will kill the materials quickly and probably prematurely cause them to crumble to dust upon re-exposure to the environment. Unless you're living in tropical Africa, I don't think the normal generally minuscule amount of moisture in the air is going to do a lot of harm to stored shoes in a closet.

For the shoes I wear, I generally don't re-stuff them with the stuffing materials. It's just too inconvenient when all I want to do is grab a pair from the closet and go. Besides, worn shoes crease. No way around it. As Agent Smith would say, "It is inevitable, Mr. Anderson."

It's true. For those who have been following this thread, "elementary school playground busted" shoes are an inevitability.

I got tracking and got charged but then got refunded.

Seems like my transaction didn't go through on my PayPal either. No email yet tho.
Wouldn't mind it tho got a Nike coupon I was saving for the 1s coming out next week. Plus that was the double up

Ya know, everywhere I turn I hear people crying about that 220 price point, and making little weak *** excuses why these aren't worth that. Saying dumb **** like "it's just a black-nubuck shoe"......

First off, this is high end casual wear. The fact that you can buy it at places that sell Chucks, or every kid you walk pass has on a pair doesn't change that fact. People need to stop acting dumb. Air Jordans are to sneakers what Bentley is to cars.

And secondly: THEY GIVE US A WHOLE DAMN YEAR TO COME UP WITH THE FUNKY LITTLE 220+ TAX. WE KNOW THE PRICE OF THESE SHOES A YEAR OUT, AND ******S STILL COMPLAIN ABOUT PRICE COME RELEASE.

Example: The New Corvettes are incredible. Best looking Vette since the 90's. But I can not afford that car. But if Chevy showed us pics 5 years in advance and gave us a price and release date, I'd had the down payment money ready and waiting . Saving tax returns and putting away cash every PD.

Dude, we're spoiled rotten right now with Jordans, and all I see is dudes griping.

anyone else not like how the tongue looks or feels? Its not a deal breaker but definitely more of an issue than the lettering issues you guys brought up. The tongue looks smaller to me than the og retro

It's definitely not smaller. But it's different. I've always been a little wary of the satin like look. But if it's a long term improvement that makes the tongue last, I can deal with it.

It reflects like no other, that's for sure.

so did everyone eat? i just got back on here now since a week b4 release, are they still around???
