Nike Air Jordan Retro Metallic V - 7/23/16

It's funny because you all are talking about the black Cement 4s yet I've seen nothing besides fake websites *wink wink* say that those are releasing.

2011 retro was ***, and don't even try to defend them just because they are an older retro now. Shoe was a complete also in the face to the OG. Suede, bout shape, 23 on heel and the colors were off and they were for $150 which at the time was ludicrous for a shoe that was supposed to bea better but than the 2007 pair. The next version better not have the 23, suede of these bout shape or else I'll have to pass again like in 2011

2011 was terrible. I picked em up for $80 and ended up giving them to my neighbor as ball shoes cuz the suede was so bad

Easily a top 5 favorite Jordan in my opinion. Have 2 pairs of 2007's and a 2000 pair. As much as I love black/metallic 5's, I did not want the 2011 pair. It was a serious letdown from the 2007 retro.
I couldn't agree more. People like to be able to rock the Nike air without chance of crumble but just kills the value and quality will never be the same :/

if you were born after 1991 you SHOULDNT be allowed to buy these, Nike should start doin that with the Nike air releases, i mean why else are thy releasing them?? its for us oldheads. not the hypebeast noob's

now that's a dumb idea if I ever heard one

I can't wait for these. I only have the 07s and I had to pass on 2011s. Glad to see the NA back on the Vs.

I was born in '95 so Jordans 10 (a stretch), 11, 12,13,14, and onward have been in my lifetime plus, the retros of previous models.  I also owned a number Jordan (Jordan 21 in the White and metallic colorway) so am I excluded

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say...Everyone that is campaigning for the 2007 retro, NEVER owned the OG or 2000 retro, and that the 2007 retro was the closes thing you could get your hands on to a retro that kinda looks like the original, but it really didn't !

I had the OG's in 1990 and i had the 2000 retro my senior year, and let me tell you when i saw the 2007 retro for the first time, that shoe looked as foreign to me as someone waiting to get through Customs !

Until 2007 my black metallic 5's NEVER had the 23 numbering on the side, nor did they have a jumpman on the heel.

I absolutely disliked them from first sight.

Now fast forward to 2011.

Jordan brand was showing no indication of bringing back the Nike Air, so i accepted the changes of the times.

When JB brought the black metallic 5 back for that year, I PERSONALLY liked what i saw.

One of the things i didn't like with my 2000 pair, was when you wear them the black nubuck would eventually start to lighten. So when i saw that dark black upper on the 2011 retro, i was in, but it was really the red jumpman on the sole that did it for me.

I PERSONALLY believe the red jumpman was a very nice touch to a classic that has been modified for this NEW Generation.

So in conclusion...I loved my OG's, I loved my 2000 retro, I could care less about the 2007 retro, and i sure as hell love my 2011 retros !

I just want Durabuck with the smooth heel like the OGs and 2000 pairs. I could care less about the Nike air(I already know they'll add that). The OG Infrareds 6s and Metallic 5s had that smoothed out Durabuck on the heel that theyve taken away since the 2000 and 99 retros.
OG Bordeaux were also Buttery Smooth Durabuck.

I'm referring to the heel of the OG Infrareds and metallics, it was smooth that looked almost like leather compared to the rest of the shoe. While it's a detail most don't really notice or care for, I appreciated that Nike added it back in the 90s. I just hope the next metallics are as spot in as the new pair of Aqua's are

Hoping these drop again, I just traded a DS pair + $50 last week to get a 2nd pair of the Camo Supreme's thinking these would eventually come back around sooner.

The black metallic 5's are absolutely one of my top 5 favorite Jordans of all time. I didn't own the OG's as a kid, but they were probably the first Air Jordans I remember as a kid when I noticed MJ wearing a pair of them on the cover of the Michael Jordan's Playground video.

After seeing this pic on the back of the tape cover, I was hooked. Fast forward years later, I didn't know about the 2000 retros, so when I heard the 2007's were coming out, I headed out to the mall and picked up 2 pairs with ease. When the 2011's dropped, I hated them. I know the 07's weren't exactly carbon copies of the OG's either, but they looked a whole lot better in my eyes, and I still have a pair of 07's on ice, with the other pair memorably worn.

With that being said, I will make sure I get another pair of these if/when they drop. Hopefully we get 3m that's reminiscent to the 2000 pair.
