Did you have the original 1990 pair or the 2000 retro, and if you did, did your pair have the 23 numbering and Jumpman on the heel ?

Outside of maybe...Ahmad Rashad, Spike Lee, or Kadeem Hardison...I'm pretty sure the general public was not able to acquire that sample or pe you covet so much.

If it wasn't for the internet and almost 26 years later, you probably wouldn't even know about the PE/Sample.

I know what i bought and wore in 1990 and in 2000, and neither of them looked like the 2007 retro.

Now as far as the Nike air, i wasn't disappointed at all !

I grew up during Nikes golden era, I got my first pair of jordans in 88, and i stopped buying  jordans after i graduated in 2000.

I had the originals, so i didn't feel like i was missing out on anything in the 2000's.

I started buying jordan's again in 2011 when the white cement 3's retro'ed.

The Nike air truly means nothing to me, because whatever retro 3, 4, 5, they re-release , if it has JORDAN on the sole instead of Nike...it's still not in it's original form.

I was fortunate to get a pair of the retro 3 88', but i didn't keep them.

The elephant print on the toe box was too wide for my liking, i compared them to my 2011 retro, and i preferred the smaller less wider elephant print pair. So i sold my 88's and kept my 2011 retro.

I'm not lusting over jordan's because of the Nike air...i been there and done that in the 90's !

I'm only buying what I like...and i could care less about them 2007 black metallic 5 retros.

They don't mean anything to me...and they never will.

I actually owned the 2000 and 2007 metallic 5s. But to answer you question the 2000 did not have the 23/jumpman
As for as saying, that because of the Internet no one would've know about the pe metalics, Michael Jordan himself actually wore them in games.

That's great that you buy what you like, it's how it should be. I only mention the whole disappointment about Nike air, because in your original post, you said that the metallic 5 were not the same because they had the jumpman

My man...you're talkin like you were actually in the bulls locker room as MJ was lacing up his pair.

I was in the third grade in 1990, i had the shoes, but for me to front like...yeah MJ wore his PE/Sample against the Knicks tonight, and he even put white laces on his pair! 

Come on man, it wasn't that serious back then.

Just having your pair in your possession to wear with your GUESS overalls was good enough.

Yes...MJ wore his black PE/Sample in games, but it's not like NBC or TNT and TBS showcased his shoes in 1990 like they did in 1995.

Do your home work on the air Penny 1. His pair was different compared to what Nike sold everyone.

No one has said that the 2007 black metallics are like the original. What I'm trying to say is that those metallics were based on the PE that MIchael Jordan wore, which are technically black metallic 5s.

I understand what you're trying to say that when the shoes first release, possibly no one would've ever care to notices the differences. I do agree that the Internet did help show case Michael Jordan PE etc, but even before the Internet for those that remember there were books/pictures that show case him in the games with his shoes on.

dope pic we discussed that shoe before airsak & I love them too.. As far as these Na 5s releasing it hurts to say but I'd have to buy these because my black supreme 5s were only purchased because this shoe escapes my grip with every eBay auction.. Consolation prize I guess.. I'm all the way in and might even sell my supreme 5s used after these release if ever

I understand, but if you like the Supreme 5s keep them and get these when they come out.  As for me even though I never owned a pair of 5s I would have wanted to own the Fire Red 5s (3M Tongue) AKA The Kaede Rukawas as my first.  Though since I heard the last retro wasn't that good I might wait on these.  No hard feelings over the Supreme 5s, I just view it as them selling the same colorway as the OG/LifeStyle colorways while I believe that the collaboration could have had a different concept.  Though all in all peace my friend.

The last retro was fine and I did have the 99 retro. 99 were pleather although soft as much as I loved them back then I prefer these actually have leather even if it's split. Only thing I don't like as much is midsole is kind of hard unlike the 99. I just picked them up a wk ago.

With something I drawn up around 99-2000.

Good advice you can never own enough 5s well the dope colorwYs that is I need a Na grape too jb make that happen

thanks for saying this because everyone complains about the newer retro and I recently got mine as well and they are fine. Wore multiple times still look fresh and the leather isn't that bad I just love the colorway.. Nice that you still draw I let my talent go to waste I had dreams of architecture as a child and my dbz /Pokemon drawing skills were off the charts lol
 
i think this is the one coming after the the WC4.

is there any order to the way these are releasing, such as aniversarys or whatnot?

i really need a 5, out of all these new CW's the fears were the only ones i thought were decent.

DBS are ugly, bel airs ugly dont even get me started on that garbage LAB nonsense..

toros, bins, tokyos, olive, burgundy..

now  those are beauties.

I'm going to have to cop a pair just because. The OGs were my very first pair and my grandmother got them for me on sale. I was mesmerized with the 3m tongue and the side mesh with that Icey sole. I wore them until I couldn't fit them anymore, which had to be a year. I copped the 07s and beat those too
 
Guys, it's a sample. A sample could take up to 2 years to drop. Remember when the Bordeaux 7s sample pic dropped in 2009? It didn't release until 2011.
