Part of the reason is that Gentry is a collector himself so he made all these ridiculous changes so that his own collection would remain valuable :rolleyes I remember when S.C. dunked a pair of his DS OG Concords in either paint or oil for a photo shoot :lol:

It's unbelievable that someone who was so out of touch and completely deaf to consumer demands was able to hold such a lofty position for the better part of a decade.
 
Was it a reason the 3m on the tongue doesn't shine as bright as older retros?

I remember seeing some og 5s 3m shining like Gucci Mane with all his jewelry on in the sunlight

Its because the OG and 2000 5s used real 3M, which is highly reflective. The downfall of that is that real 3M had a tendency to crack and chip like the durabuck. Thats why they changed it to a artificial 3m which is more durable but thinner. Theyre going to change it back with the Black/Metallics next year.

he's the one responsible for the foams overkill? And it makes sense about the 2009-11 part, even 2012 had horrible re releases that were wayyy did than the OG.
 
Yea I was never a huge fan of Humphrey either; that whole time frame including the CDPs was awful. Things are headed in the direction they should have been since they started retro-ing Jordan's. Put the jumpman on retro+ colors and leave the Nike air on the originals. Ppl would still find reasons to complain but it is what it is

He made a lot of stupid decisions in regards to JB retros but this current trend of price increases is insane. This is especially bad since a lot of these new retro+ cws are awful and quality seems to be very inconsistent among models.

I love that Jordan Brand has decided to relaunch the brand and bring back the golden age. It feels like 1999 all over again. I'm convinced Black Infrared 6s are on the horizon in 2017-2018 due to the fact that it used Infrared 23 as a accent color instead of Infrared and the short hair nubuck the shoe was predominantly constructed of instead of durabuck. I think it's certainly guaranteed that we get Black Cement 4s next year, Jordan Brand even mentioned them in the article about remastering.

Are those an EARLY/SAMPLE pair of the 2011's @jaylaw15???

I'm just asking because the ones that released had the 23 embroidered on the side...

No. TBH I just photoshopped out the 23. The 2007 pair had a sample with no 23 though. I'm just really anxious for info on these and some actual pics. I hope the shape resembles 5s from 2006-prior. 
 
Have we talked about possible release dates already?

ASG maybe?

But with WC4's as well would be heck on the pockets
