No this year was the 7. All we got was the Bords and weak *** color ways with corny stories behind them. And Jordan Brand has this weird technique of whatever year it is, release a hot shoe meant for the following year and next year, release a hot shoe meant for the previous year. JB I tell ya.

I'm surprised that these were 1 of the shoes showcased in the evolved remastered shots. Perhaps these are releasing sooner than we think? Maybe spring? Not sure there would be a reasons for them to show a shoe that is releasing in 1 year.

Raptors are on the horizon probably for 2017. Possibly next year since we're getting Olympics. My theory is that every OG colorway released within the last 5 years will get a remastered version. We need some Nike branded boxes to go with these shoes

If theyre showing them this early, then late spring or the summer makes more sense. They wouldnt showcase a shoe coming out nearly a year away

This is one of the most exciting releases for me since the last proper release in 2000.
I have a bit of a problem when it comes to hoarding AJ 5s.
It started back with the initial retro run and I have not stopped since.
I stocked up big time back in the day, but sadly I can't risk wearing them anymore.
I got to wear two of them pretty heavily over the years before the cracking set in.
The third pair will forever remain DS.
Contrary to popular belief, these actually came out in March of 2000.
Most people who didn't get them on release just go by the production date on the tag of 1999.
The 2000 white/fire reds have held up much better over time.
These were actually released before the black/metallic silver pair in January of 2000.
These are also commonly and erroneously referred to as 1999s.
The pair on the left I've been able to wear regularly over the years.
One of my pairs was blessed by the sneaker gods and simply will not yellow!
It's amazing how well they've held up over the years and they've been stored in the exact conditions as my other pairs.
The 2007 black/metallic silver release was a bit disappointing with the lack of Nike Air, but it was cool to see the introduction of the "PE" style 23 on the side.
Another sneaker that erroneously gets referred to as a 2006 release, even though they came out in January 2007.
2007 was an absolutely terrible year quality wise for JB.
These are a bit stiff compared to the 2000 version and also were prone to paint cracking.
Fortunately, those were the only two major flaws with this release and they were overall a pretty solid rendition.
I purchased the 2011 retro and was extremely disappointed with the quality, shape, and lack of durabuck...so I immediately parted ways with them.
I expect big things with this upcoming release and can't wait to see and wear the final product.

Nice photos! Black Metallics are definitely my favorite. I've only had the 07 and 11 pairs so the 2016s will be a refreshing upgrade. I'm very much looking forward to these.

Hands down the best Js of all time. I'm pretty stoked, having just gotten the royal 14s (one of my favorites), and then learning about a proper retro of my absolute favorite.
What a time to be alive.
Sidenote: These releases have also helped me shave down my total number of shoes. There's only about 7 or 8 pairs of Jordans I'd consider keeping now.

If I knew these were launching, I wouldn't have bought the Oreo's in '13. Had these in '90. Don't really need two black based Vs....oh well....haven't yet mastered the whole predicting the future thing ;-).
