Nike Air Jordan Retro Metallic V - 7/23/16

$110 plus tax
Steep then too..
Actually $110 in 1990 is $206.32 today, when you take inflation into account. With today's remasters being priced at $220, we're actually getting ripped off by $14 in 2016. Which is why it's a benefit to the consumer to obtain the following in order to get your costs down:
  • A winner's circle account at Finishline
  • VIP Rewards at Footlocker, Footaction, Champs, etc
  • Discounts/Promo codes at Nikestore.com
  • Get that survey validation code for $10 off your next $50 or over purchase at Footlocker (printed on your receipt every time you make a purchase at FTL)

That's marked down b, it was $125, $120 in 2000
In 1990, if people were smart, patient, and knew where to shop, they would not have bought the Jordan V on release day at Footlocker or Athlete's Foot for $125.

There were other chains of stores such as Copeland's Sports, Sportmart (where I bought my pairs), and I believe even Oshman's Sporting Goods, that sold Jordans for less than $125. Back then, it was very common to obtain Jordans "on sale" a few weeks after release date.

As I recall, after Jordan won his first title in 1991, the hype of the Air Jordan shoe skyrocketed immensely. When I bought the Carmine 6s and the Infrared 6s, I could no longer find them for $110 (I paid $124.99 at Sportmart).

its a beautiful thing really, bulk resellers getting hosed.

I'm happy about it since it gives people who for x reason didn't have the time in the morning the chance to cop. It also lets people make a rational decision. When stuff flies, people are more likely to make an impulse purchase they may regret. Could be having too many unworn shoes, having a previous version, etc. I'm glad the resellers are gone. It's a different story when you store a shoe and sell it several years later when they're not around. That's actually a valuable service. Buying fsrs to rip people off on the same day on shoes that are already expensive is messed up.

I still approach every release the same way. Never take how easy it's been for granted. It's true that adidas has taken away some of the spotlight but none of us know for how long. Jordans started all this. Fads can come and go but these shoes will always be classics.

Hope they space the infrareds, black cements, etc out over the next few years so I'm not spending so much money. Only 8 more to compete my Jordan collection it'd be nice to have only 2 per year instead of 4 :frown:

also has to do with payments not getting accepted. I have 3 credit cards and they wont accept it. called my credit card and all said it was merchant not taking the payment. Called finishline said once they block a payment, i wont be able to buy for a month. i have 2 winner circle awards for buying a lot at FNL but they said i wont be able to purchase this and they cant give me explanation why except my payment was blocked

Damn these things happen. My card wasn't working today at FTL and finally worked on the 3rd try. The chip isn't in the best shape from having been used at parking meters. FNL declined payment on my second pair which freaked me out and I had to go get cash and come back. Had to talk to my bank and confirm that I authorized the charge and that my card hadn't been stolen.

That purchasing power surely going down the drain. Smh...

Got all the cargo put away and decided on the pair I'm going to wear. No flash, these are catching the natural light in my room. Tongues are some kind of iridescent silver.

Size gone now :smh:    thanks for the heads up tho ya'll

I just got back on NT from being out on the river no service. Man i see this was 7 hours ago :x clicked the link anyway and looks like FSR :smokin

Lets do this bout to put this order in thru my lady acct just to be safe

Man with so many pairs out there, I feel like I need to double up just so Nike doesn't change their minds on these recent releases
Doubt it. Right now pairs are sitting. Nike can't start slipping. We know without NA and weak quality material these would sitting in FSRs at a lot of joints. Plus, Nike needs some excuse to keep pumping up the price.

I don't care about the price being $220 plus. Resellers can't take advantage of us anymore. Raise the price. Then let them sit. Then let us use those discounts. I'm feeling low-key liberated.

All of this. I held off on the 2nd pair cuz I know I'll be able to score something down the road for a nice price
