I grew up in Orlando. Speaking only for myself, you could get Jordans if you gave a little effort calling around (big ups to rotary dial phones lol), but typically anything black flew off the shelf and a lot of people got stuck with one of the white colorways.. Vs were the first pair I got in black that wasn't a pain in the *** to track down. Back in those days, I was at the mercy of my parents driving me to Athlete's Foot (I haven't lived in Central FL in decades, but don't recall seeing one there in years) or Foot Locker. It was either that, or walking to with my cousin several miles to the store.This. LOL. Sounds like we're the same age. I had a tough time getting Jordans back then too. Small town, only a Hibbets and JCPenneyIn 1990, I didn't care. My parents were forking out the money. And you know I had my black metallic pair on deck for the 8th grade
In HS when the 7s came out, i quit wearing Jordan's till the 11s. Really not a fan of many Jordan's out side of 1s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 11s, and the occasional 2. I'm glad Nike is releasing these in masses. I'm too old to be wasting my days tracking down shoes. Truth be told, I don't wear Jordan's that much, but there are some I just have to have. Especially if they have the NA treatment. I know I'm being wasteful, but these shoes are more than fashion for some of us old dudes. They're part of our childhood and memories.
That said, I'm more of a Ultra Boost, Flyknit Racer, Asics Gel Lyte 3/5, Saucony, and Kobe wearer these days.

welp, just realized i had 2 $20 rewards at fnl so i copped my 2 10.5s from there just now. that means 4 pairs now on the way, but will be returning the snkrs pairs to the outlet. eff it, money is money saved.

Hype isn't dead, they drastically increased production. This only kills the hype for individuals worried about exclusivity. Funny thing is that the ones that pass on these releases because their wildly available now will eventually want them down the line when they can no longer be found as easily.
