Why NYC radio got Future in his feelings ? Vol. Flex shot's

Yeah I don't get why future is mad here.

Also, I was in NYC when DS2 dropped and I heard that **** ******* everywhere. Dudes on the train playing it out loud, every damn car that drove past. Dudes blasting it posted up in front of their building.

It's like I might as well had been in Atlanta that weekend.

Not a single lie. **** I was play it to and from work for a good 2-3 weeks my self.

And that's why people like Flex come off as hating. They've been playing what's "hot" for all these years, and now that what's hot is continually music from outside of the tri-state area, they want to make it a point to condemn other artists while they try to put their own back on a pillar. But the fax is that no one relies on radio DJs to break artists. The Internet is too big of a platform and people like Fossil are becoming increasingly irrelevant. The days are gone where people had to listen to the radio ALLLLL day with a casset ready to hit record when they finally heard their favorite song. I remember doing that for Wild Out by the Lox, In Da Club (which wasn't too difficult because Flex ran that **** back like 6 times that night ). Now that people have access to literally any track they want literally at any time they want, they not gonna be checking for radio like that. Flex doesn't get to play what's hot and then try to backpedal because what's hot isn't the stuff he prefers. If that's the case, do the world a favor and retire already.

Flex bought his grave with that "I Wana Know" freezeout. Never again.. will that happen on the radio unless it's Apple one
and a Drake exclusive. I can't believe I gave up my time and had the radio on my computer tuned into Hot97 like a damn
clown. :smh:

The internet is bigger than any radio DJ will ever be and it's the facts. You better start branching out if you want to exist
in this technology driven society. Plenty of programs to be developed and ground breaking apps to be made. People
are truly stuck in the 90's.

Flex should stick to his lame website with 1000's of ad's and copy and pasted articles to make his scratch.

NY wasn't exactly bringin quality new artist 10 years ago either.

How many times can you play Papoose, Saigon and Jae Millz?

Why wasnt Flex saying this 10 years ago? Its too late fam.

Hot 97 is taking more heat for it.

They even have a new hour spot before Rosenberg's show to focus on local acts.

Part of it is because they are trying to increase ratings, but they also notice the complaints from people.

NY has Fetty, French and ASAP Mob. Then add the 2nd Tier with Bronson, Dave East, Milly Rock dudes etc. That's enough to play and mix in the new stuff.

LA doesn't even play Kendrick too much. Mostly Schoolboy & YG. Then all the basic stuff. Hip Hop radio is dead in LA though.

Well I only play the radio when its time for those Friday night freestyles. I've been trying to tell people that mainstream radio is dead. We literally have no need for it anymore. SoundCloud might as well be our new radio. By now its evident that most radio stations are playing what they deem are hits. I applaud Flex for his overall message, but it's too late for that. :smh:

And besides, didn't they blacklist Joey Badass from the radio stations a while back? They didn't want us to hear our locals then.

Uhhh idk why Future mad at Flex comments. It kinda should be like that even if for a portion of the time. I know Cosnic Kev used to do that for Philly artists back when i listened to the radio. Imagine if ATL stations aint wanna play Future cause he wasnt as hot as other artists at the time & aint wanna give dude no airplay

I think you can say that about cali period

Local radio stations dictating their own content is a dead issue. You can thank Bill Clinton passing the Telecommunications Act of 1996 for that.
Conglomerates took over & just churn out a safe, profitable, universal playlist all over the country.

Flex's pouting isn't shocking to me at all. If it isn't all about them, NYC will attempt to dismiss, minimize & belittle or just flat out throw a cultural temper tantrum.
And he can couch it as defending quality music or whatever, but given the opportunity, Flex would shove NYC's lowest common denominator hip hop down everyone's thoughts without a hint of irony. It would be god awful Bobby Shmurda all the time instead of god awful Future. That's a push in my book.
New York City crying foul over cultural snubbing will most assuredly fall on deaf ears seeing as NYC seems to take pleasure in doing it to others.

Flex is only doing that bring NY back spiel now because the money done slowed up. 10 years back, Hot was trying to get all the most profitable artists on their shows and concerts. No need for him to be on this bs regional tirade.

THIS.

NY hip-hop supporters have a VERY European way of conducting themselves. It's become a microcosm of what goes on a cultural level in America. "If it ain't white it ain't right" has become "if it ain't NY it ain't right". We mistreated every region at some point and now that they've succeeded we wanna play victim. #AllLivesMatter *** Ns.

Make BETTER music. Stop actin like broads.

NY Hip Hop been shot since 50 started bashing on Ja Rule for the same stuff he became and when he was going at Jada, LOX, Cam, Fat Joe & Nas. now you can see the entire coast is in shambles. there's no untiy in the East like Down South or the West.

It's not 50s fault that everyone from the class of 05 flamed out.

NY stopped introducing NEW artists that made quality music. 50 has nothing to do with that. All those dudes he beefed with are OLD and wouldn't matter today anyway.

And 50 was singing in 'Power Of The Dollar' before Ja went fully R&B

Nas, Fat Joe, The LOX & Cam were all making good records around that time though. he's still partly to blame in my opinion.

One man can't kill the movement of a city with such a deep history with the culture.

That's a cop out excuse.

Like there's no way in hell future could diss everyone in Atlanta right now and they'd just suddenly fall off.

That clearly didn't take effect more than 10 years later   Mainstream radio was still very well balanced for a long time. I think the shift started to happen in 2006, and completely went to hell in 2009.
