2016 NFL Draft Thread - Do NOT spoil picks during Draft, you are warned.....Mods on standby

Goff
Lynch
Hack
Dak

Everyone loves Wentz but I have nothin on him. He supposedly is gonna be either first or second QB taken in some eyes. Lot of North Dakota St experts I guess.

I love, none of them. My hope is they all redshirt a year, but you know the NFL, they'll start asap.

Goff might die in Cleveland.
Lynch in StL would interest me. Alot. But, Fisher.
Hack in Houston is what's expected of course, but we'll see.

Curious what the NFL will think of Cook and Hogan.

I've always like Wentz. He would have been heard about a lot more this last season if he never got hurt. I would take him over guys like Hack and Dak for sure at this point and most likely Lynch. Not sure between he and Goff. I like Goff, but he seems to lack something I can't put my finger on that feels like it will hold him back. No killer instinct.

Hopefully a DE drops or Su'a Cravens at safety.

Su'a is my prime target for the Vikings as a fan, but they probably should go O-line. Kinda depends on how free agency goes, I suppose.

I think he goes top 5 as well.

Doesn't mean that's not who I would want.

Plays FS, paired with Reshad Jones. Helps corners with everything over top.
Can drop down into the slot to play corner on sub packages. Two stones, one player.

Yep think a more athletic Malcolm Jenkins

 I thought I was the only one who thought like this! I would hear a prospects name and if it doesn't sound easy on the ears, I would assume he'd be a bust haha

It's so stupid but I swear there's some truth to it
Like if I had never seen either guy play football and I had to bet my career on the draft pick, I'm taking "Cam Newton" over "Blaine Gabbert" all day

Cam Newton or Joe Montana just SOUNDS like he'd be great at football and be a popular guy. Carson Wentz sounds like he'd be really good at finding creative deductions while doing my taxes for me.

I can't believe that for over 10 years, I've been engaging in debates with folks on here that base a players potential off of the sound of their names.

So much explained.

If I was a GM, I'll see his name first - If it's too generic. I'm passing on him in the draft

Colt McCoy should have been great based off his name, his name screams gunslinger

I'm probably in the super minority but I do not trust Mack Alexander as a #1 CB.
He got the Nnamdi treatment at Clemson
I don't value CBs who don't create Turnovers.
Bc even the best lockdown defenders still get takeaways .

Hopefully all the GM's think this too and we scoop him in the beginning of the 2nd round

Artie Burns has gone from mid round pick to early 2nd round in a matter of weeks. Yet Deon Bush still hovering around the mid rounds. One is a CB, the other a Safety though I think Bush can start tomorrow, Burns has more upside though.

Bush hasn't shown nearly what Burns has & both played in the same ****** scheme

They both should test off the charts though

I've seen sites that grade Bush as undraftable. I looked around online like does he have aneurism or something?

Golden ****** over Deon the most out of any of the players he's had

Saban would've turned him into a god :smh:

I'm not a fan either.
I honestly don't like 99% of players in the first round coming off of one year of success.
There has to be a reason... scheme? you could only start as a jr. or sr. then go pro? Couldn't hit the field before? There's just always something imo.
Is there always an exception to the rule, sure.
But minimum two years of progression and/or dominance, injury free for my first round pick.

Alexander been good for more than one year, the other Clemson Corner Tankersely was good for one year only.

When you don't make plays how "good" can you be.
He had his most success this year because he wasn't injured.
No picks, only 10 passes defended in two years off of how many NFL WRs? I would be interested in seeing that. Kelvin Benjamin was already gone by the time he started playing, Devante Parker was injured 2014. 2015... no real top WR prospects at WR. Curious and interesting none the less.

Maybe I'm missing something though.

He got more notoriety this year based off the year he had the year before when he started every game and played well

Right... but if their is no NFL caliber WR and you have equal weapons, you'd play match up.

But if you had Benjamin or Parker, you would test the coverage.

Like I said, I would be interested in seeing his play against NFL caliber receivers. Bigger receivers too, he's not big. Wonder if BMarsh, Fitz body type would dominate against him. Plays a lot of off man coverage from what I saw. How is he with press?

FSU, Oklahoma, UNC, USCe, Georgia, Bama, Notre Dame, Louisville don't have NFL quality WR's?

And he locks up & trails the #1 WR every game for the most part.

He certainly has questions re: his game but comp isn't one of them

Not what I said.

I said I'd be interested to see what top talent he played against. Benjamin was gone by the time he started.
Parker was injured when Clemson played Louisville.

Name another top WR going to the NFL in the first two rounds that he's faced.

Out of the last two years where can you say " he shut down Devante Parker " who was a dominant receiver in college.
