Kobe has 2 as a stand alone type player.

Tim Duncan has at least 3 as a stand alone type player...3 NBA Finals MVP and you could argue he was the stand alone type player in 2007 but Tony Parker got the NBA Finals MVP ala Steph Curry in 2015.

So yes Tim Duncan has more stand alone type championships than Kobe.

These dudes are playing with good role players and 2 other hall of famers [emoji]128514[/emoji]. The best of the 3 hofers? Biggest name? Wade and bosh will never get the credit they deserved them years, especially bosh.

Why are we applying this logic to Curry? You're making no sense
You probably the type of person who says Horry is better than Kobe because rings and "logic"

Fact of the matter is, Allen absolutely saved his legacy. You think 2-4 is bad? We all would have torn him to shreds the following day if he was 1-3. Especially in the final moments, 1/3 from 3 and 2TO in the final minute of a potential championship defining game is putrid.
No. I'm not that type of guy. I'm the type of guy that doesn't think a guy with 1 championship, and one MVP is in the same conversation as a man who's been to 5 straight finals, has 4-MVPs, 2 chips, and a Gold medal. Silly me.

I never said 2-4 is bad. Especially in 5 years. Ya'll are the ones comparing the seemingly best player in the league to somebody who's "bailed out by his teammates" Which is also flawed, last time I checked, basketball is a 5 v 5 sport. Curry and LeBron didn't play one on one pickup. Iguodala "saved" Curry's legacy just as much as Allen "saved" LeBron (with that logic, which again, is flawed).

So this was an illogical argument from the jump. If Curry's the best, why do you feel the need to bring LeBron's name into it? You don't need to validate Kobe's success by comparing him to someone else, nor Duncan, Jordan, Shaq, and certainly not LeBron. So why can't ya'll tell me how great Curry is without the mention of someone else?

Carry on the trolling fellas.

Name the one defining shot, rebound, assist, possession, etc, where Iguodala saved Curry's legacy. Still don't understand why you are applying "logic" when the cases are different. "Well, by that logic". LOL. All games and possessions are not created equal. People are getting it twisted. It wasn't solely Iguodala who saved the series. It was small ball. Iguodala was just the number one beneficiary. As a collective unit, the starting 5's assists and efficiency went way up, and their plus/minus skyrocketed. Cavs had no answer for small ball plain and simple.
Maybe this whole discussion is one or two seasons too early. Barring injury, Curry has nowhere to go but up, while Lebron's window getting smaller as time goes on. Who knows m, maybe he should have stayed in Miami, that Whiteside kid seems pretty good.

Youre the best player.

You won the NBA MVP or finished higher than the 2nd best player.

You are the statistical dominant player.

You won the NBA Finals MVP.
as ive stated before . lebron is the peyton manning of the nba.  all kinds of great regular season stats  but everyone besides his delusional die hard fans know he not as great as the stats say he is. when the big moment comes he most likely going to wet the bed. hence the 2-4 losing record in the finals.....

alot of kobe fans are realizing that train is ending and hopping over to the curry train

just because you are a fan of one player, and not another doesnt mean you have to be salty.(i was guilty of this with Isaiah Thomas back in the day) i've never seen any player in NBA history avg a triple double in any series and have it be called hollow.

curry is a phenominal player. any player that can hit 77 NBA 3s in a row in practice is bound to be, no hate against him, kobe or any other NBA great

yep, because basketball is a team sport unless its time to hate on lebron, then it becomes an individual sport

Basketball is a team sport, but an individual player has much more influence on his teams success in basketball then a similarly talented player would have in other pro sports.  in basketball a  player is one of five guys on the court. He plays both sides of the ball and if hes a great player he's involved in nearly every play on the floor.

peyton manning doesnt get a pass and hes in the ultimate team sport, sorry but his basketball equivalent doesn't get a pass either. that team sport ish is just an excuse and its a bad one at that.

peyton manning has a history of having bad performances in 1 and done situations where anything can happen. in basketball, the best team...or one of the best teams wins the championship every year depending on matchups.

outside of the finals against the mavs, and his first against the spurs in 07, lebron puts up MVP type finals performances, which leads back to basketball being a TEAM game. no one man can win or lose a championship alone no matter how much influence he has on the game.

not saying that he doesnt deserve a good portion of the blame, he definitely does as do all others involved. problem is, with haters, he gets all the blame when they lose, when he wins...his stats are hollow and others save him. if we are talking bad excuses, that is the worst of them all.

the 2 wins cant be because bosh and wade played so good and LBJs stats are hollow and the 4 losses be because lebron totally disappears at crunch-time.

Thread is titled "SO, HAS STEPH CURRY OVERTAKEN LEBRON AS THE BEST BASKETBALL PLAYER IN THE WORLD?"

People bringing up Kobe but saying it's not a deflection.

Uhhh..who was the FIRST one to bring up Kobe in this thread??? Ooooh surprise surprise, YOUR fellow Kobe stan!

Cracks me up when Kobe fans cry about their washed up idol being brought into the thread when it was one of their OWN fellow cape crusaders that brought him up.

Was gonna edit after I quoted you and say I know i'm late but I figured you would just realize I JUST read this thread and wasn't in this one when you originally posted.

Anyway, still, to the point, how y'all gonna get all mad at people bringing up Kobe when it was his OWN fan base that brought him up?
