I was born in the 520 my dude, but spent my early years back and forth between here and the homeland. Somehow I am still here in the Dirty T lolWhat country do you live in? Just out of curiosity.
It's understandable that you developed the views you have on homosexuality in your situation. If you grow up in a country where it's illegal it's logical that you have those views.
While it doesn't really excuse the views imo it certainly makes it more understandable.
I think once you get older and are less influenced by your peers your views can further change if you're willing to open your mind more.
Honestly in your situation I'd be scared of having a gay son too because he would have to deal with a lot of struggle in a country where his very being is illegal.
He's Muslim and he lives in Tucson, AZ.
I hear where he's coming from, coming from a similar background. Difference being I was born in the states.
But it's incredibly difficult to expect tolerance from someone coming from an intolerant culture.
I mean, I've had this convo with my mom before and I told her I have no problem with people being gay. I told her people are born that way same way people are born straight.
Now she's an educated woman, a former OBGYN. You figure she'd be receptive to an argument reinforced by scientific evidence.
But nah, straight ignorance. I get it though, she's coming from a different world.
But I got a question for you bro, what makes this culture more tolerant or less ignorant than the culture of our backgrounds? Why are the views of our people backwards and ignorant and the views of Europeans/Americans progressive and tolerant?
