i remember years ago when i would get sick it'd be a common cold take meds you're better in 1-3 days. now it seems it takes 4-14 days to get over a common cold. for me at least. all the symptoms last longer now, regardless of the type of meds you take.

anybody?

4-14 days is a huge difference homie.  I do think it has evolved though.  I feel like now when I get a cold the symptoms are way less severe, but the cold itself drags on longer.

global warming has unleashed pathogens and viruses that lay dormant below permafrost layers for thousands of years...rhinoviruses (or common cold in laymans terms) have mutated after combining, so its now like super colds ...

I hear you 100% OP. Was just having this convo recently. I'm also old so that might have to do with it.

Bourbon + Honey + Lemon juice in the microwave to get hot. Guaranteed to work.

I imagine as you get older these things affect you differently. I know colds linger for me much longer in the last few years compared to the rest of my life. I haven't had a cold that was any worse, per say.

Use to be sick for 3-4 days, the last cold I had lasted 2 weeks

For me, it has actually been the complete opposite. The duration of my colds has gotten significantly shorter as I've gotten older. It's to the point now where I'll only be sick for no more than 1 to 2 minutes. In a couple of years, I'll essentially be immune to all viruses, bacterias, and diseases.

Sarcasm aside, it's almost as if people are, like, different, and stuff.

10-15 years ago you probably had an on call personal assistant* who would make sure to care for you and cancel any meeting or engagements you had in order to speed up your recovery

*mom

It's been the exact opposite for me. I use to get sick a lot more when I was younger. I'd also stay sick much longer than I do now.

The common cold always evolves, thats why theres no straight up cure for it.
