I hope more people read that article by the OP because it's 1000% true. Everyone is racist simply because of the choices that are made. What concerns me the most about #BlackLivesMatter is the fact WE (black people) only care about our lives when it comes to white supremacy, the media, or taking a stand against the government. #BLM movement don't care about how many people (black lives) are taken in Chicago (Chi-Raq) everyday or every year. #BLM movement don't care about black-on-black violence in our communities that's blasted over our 4, 5, 6 pm newscasts everyday.

BTW, I had a similar talk with my cousin (who is white) a couple weeks ago. He doesn't believe or WANT to believe things like this are happening because he doesn't see it or experience it every day. As the article said, HE was given the choice of the blue pill or red pill. I'm biracial (black & white, very light-skinned) and I have terrible experiences when either shopping or interacting with law enforcement that I don't know. Does it make me bitter? Absolutely, but it also convinces me to be a better person, make the right choices, & influence others to do the right thing. Add on top of that, one of my career goals is to become a law enforcement officer so I can speak with different groups of people & let them know the media is only increasing the hate of the world & ALL police officers are not the devil.

**The article was a long read but had very believable facts & opinions & we need to keep this conversation going. Hell, ppl can put that on their FB pages & spread the word.

That's not the case, race and racism as always been a hot topic on NT. Even before you were around, even when you go ghost, and it will still be that way even after you're gone; those topics will be discussed. Trust me when I say this famb, I have posted in enough race thread to know

Matter of fact, there are even many non black members of NT that have spoken at length about these issues.

It just that people, even a lot of black members on NT, just don't want to talk about racism and white supremacy, WITH YOU.

People stick there head in the sand not because of they don't want to hear the message, it's because they can't stand the messenger

Black culture thread for the most part is where a lot of knowledge is dropped.
 
Personally find it better to mingle with my own. A lot of them already have their minds made up about certain issues so we could never bang like that on a personal level. Cordial yes, but other than that I'm cool.

OP, I mean this in the most sincere way, you should chill out. If it comes to a point where even your good articles are brushed off by some of the most staunch supporters of equality. You have to leave that "F em, Imma do me" mentality behind.

If those that are in the same fight as you are telling you to change the tone, I think you should at least consider it rather than combat it.

And nothing I have ever said on NT even hints that I think that

-The closes I have argued is that at a minimum, there are a lot of policy changes that the white community as a while should get behind that would not only disproportionately help black folk, but also help their community a lot a lot as well. But the black community must play their part in pushing for these policies.

You would know that if you actually listen to folk, instead of putting words in their mouth to try to feel superior

White supremacy is not some abstract thing that you can just wish away and everything is fine

It is baked into our laws, our policies, hell America's culture.

You have to be able to say specifically how America will transition to a "post white supremacy" world and how it will operate.

Black people have been oppressed physically, then legally, now economically.

If black people can't spell out how this new America must will look, then the dominant society will, and just look at how they were able to transform laws and policies over history to find new ways to hurt the black community
