I Don't Talk About Race With White People

Yeah? That sounds

Guyana seems like a cool place. Lot of cultures coming together there.
I'm from Guyana and I just came back from there. It's so funny they think that their social issues like racism are so crazy serious but honestly it's laughable compared to here. On the street everybody seems to get just along fine. If the archaic political parties didn't continue to preach that ole racism for votes and weren't so damn crooked the country would be nice.
Yea...the new coalition is trying to make it a thing of the past by always having 1 black and 1 indian as president/prime minister.  I think this may be the only way but what happens when the amerindians want their piece too...also the chinese cropping up like weeds...worried about that....last thing we need is more foreigners trying to rip off the country

Grab a cup of cocoa, tuck yourself into your chair with a blanket, and get real comfortable famb

I'm about to let you in on something, you seem to be completely missing

It is not that dudes don't want to discuss white supremacy or racism on NT.

That's not the case, race and racism as always been a hot topic on NT. Even before you were around, even when you go ghost, and it will still be that way even after you're gone; those topics will be discussed. Trust me when I say this famb, I have posted in enough race thread to know

Matter of fact, there are even many non black members of NT that have spoken at length about these issues.

It just that people, even a lot of black members on NT, just don't want to talk about racism and white supremacy, WITH YOU.

People stick there head in the sand not because of they don't want to hear the message, it's because they can't stand the messenger

Just saying.
Why is that though?
Why is the messenger more important than the message?
Where did I say the messenger is more important than the message famb?

I'm saying that message will be received regardless. We will still have debates about racism and race on NT if dude wasn't around.

So his argument that the reason folk don't like him because he post about white supremacy and racism is patently false.
"People stick there head in the sand not because of they don't want to hear the message, it's because they can't stand the messenger" - from this I gathered that people will intentionally not listen to good information just because of the person who is giving it.

The rest of what you said makes sense but this made me confused.

I'm saying people tune his information/article when they see his the OP. It is specific to him and his antics.

It is not a general statement about "people" everywhere.

Everything I do is a step to buy land in a different country and not live in the USA anymore. But on the premise of racism, it's just as bad if not worse in some places I would like to go (i.e. Central or South America)
Is there anywhere that white people aren't considered racist then?
My country is a pretty good place for black people tbh. I've seen a very strong decline in racism towards blacks over the past decade.
10 years ago my black friend would get called the n-word a lot. Nobody has been racist to him in years now.
The racism towards middle eastern people and muslim hate is very high though, maybe the bigots just shifted their hate to another minority group.
There's also little to no police brutality. I can't remember the last time I saw a case in the news.

Aren't you from Belgium or something? lol if so, they have a history that may be one of the worst on earth when it comes to relations with Blacks globally.

Not being called the n-word in a 10 year span is really not a good way to tell how your country has gotten less racist. Especially if you're not the person getting the racial slurs directed at you.

He like most non Blacks tend to think name calling = racism.

A white person has never called me the N word in my life, but I can damn sure tell you I have seen racism first hand lol.

I'm just saying that used to actually be quite common. I've also been in work environments with black people who said they get treated very well compared to ~5-10 years ago. Some older people I worked with still held on to the "black people are lazy" stereotype but the younger generation is much more accepting.
You can safely go anywhere as a black man without facing any harassment.
I've seen/heard a lot of racism towards black people when I was younger, today it's completely different.

And this folks is exactly why I don't care to discuss racism with non Black Americans......

Goodbye!

10 years ago they were just dropping the n bomb casually? That's wild for an office setting.

So the racism has gone from overt to subtle like in a few other European countries.

For the circumstances you're describing and this alleged change over a decade. I highly doubt the country is less racist. Just black ppl don't have to deal with in your face offensive direct racism on a day to day basis.

Yeah man people would randomly call my friend the n-word when we were walking home from school. In work environments too.
Belgium colonized Congo so we do have deeply racist roots.

There are probably a ton of black people that thought the same thing about America before 2008.

Then a black man became president, and the days after social media was packed with racist comments and a white nationalist movement bubbled up again

Racism is HIV, just cause the viral load is low enough that the test can't pick it up, doesn't mean a country still isn't infected

The fact is Racism will never end lol, the question is when will Blacks globally have some sort of universal defense mechanism (economically and militarily) to protect themselves against it.

Correct. For such a small country we did a lot of damage to Africa and black folks in general.

Europe in general pretty much is the root of damage to blacks, yea Non Black Arabs did damage too, but the impact of Europeans was some next level stuff.

It is what it is though.

Yeah I know that but I wasn't going to bring that into the convo. The us is racist af too. The roots and currently.

You guys are way more passive over there than here it sounds. How would your friend react? That's what used to happen here. Now people just try to hide their racism which is equally as bad.

Simply ignore it. We were kids at the time. I haven't heard that word in a very long time.
But yes we are much more passive in general.
As kids we've always been taught to ignore insults and show him you're the better man by staying calm and not responding
