Except I think the royal quality is vastly overrated. A smudge better than Breds but like I said in the Jordan 1 thread

Shadow quality>> bred and Royal
 
Royal's were the best quality out of the '13 trinity. They were just made different, I guess cause they were the first ones. Even the lining and cotton tongue is different compared to the black/red and shadows.

Yeah those and Knicks got the same treatment. Knicks came a month before if I remember right.

That's disappointing that they aren't actual/genuine leather. Are any J's real leather anymore?

Not very many in sneakers in general just because of the cost of leather.
The only shoes that use genuine leather from a cow nowadays are $500+ dress shoes.
 
the confusion about leather on NT is outta hand.. i.e people implying leather is an extremely rare/expensive commodity or that Nike literally, somehow MIXES shredded leather and plastic together? lol

Its either synthetic (vinyl, 'plastic' etc), split (in which a thin, cheap leather is coated with a synthetic) or.. actual leather


...the remastered 1s are real leather

Okay thank you. I assumed they were, but my Jordan knowledge is limited to XI 2009 cool greys (Patent and suede) and '99 White Cements I sole swapped (synthetic).

Yeah the Knicks did release a month before the Royals. I remember seeing the Knicks on display when I was copping 2013 Chicagos. Stupdily passed on Knicks back then, but I have a pair now so I'm good.

What about entire cowhide leather jackets sold for 300-500? Mfg cost gotta be less than $150 on those. Could prob make 5 pairs out of that much leather. Sure not top grade buttery calfskin quality but way better than what is seen even on the SBB. Dress shoes over $500 are using very high grade leather sourced from Europe plus hours of finishing and hand dye process. Also, the volume Nike could buy leather in...they can get amazing prices.

Yea that makes sense. If I had a pair in hand I could tell if it's genuine leather or not, but going off of conjecture and opinions of others isn't definitive enough.
 
I like the red that almost borders on orange. Never really liked the dark or deep red.
