Unlucky-in-love transgender woman reveals she's rejected by straight men because she still has 'male parts' - despite being chatted up all the time

A transgender woman trying to find love has told how she is rejected by straight men for having 'male parts' and was even called an 'abomination' by her own father.

Claire Green, 20, from Virginia, says she has no problem meeting men but they often disappear once they find out she used to be a boy.

After transitioning over a year ago, she found the courage to go to the beach in a bikini for the first time on BBC Three documentary, Young, Trans And Looking For Love which airs on Monday.

She said: 'Once I tell them all respect goes out the window. Straight guys just can't get over that you have male parts.'

Claire was previously called Dylan and takes four pills a day, one which blocks testosterone and one to give the hormone oestrogen.

She is trying to find love and is online dating in a bid to find Mr Right.

Claire said: 'I would just like someone to spend time with and to cuddle and do little things with, it's the little things that are important to me.

'I have met a lot of douchebags and jerks, and I really, really want to meet a gentleman.'

When Claire first announced to her family she was transitioning, she said her mother was supportive while her father disowned her.

She said: 'My mom's side of the family accepted it but my dad's side of the family completely didn't accept it and think it's a super-big sin.

'I'm an abomination, that's what my dad told me I was.

'He called me once when I came out as transgender and told me everyone thought I was an abomination.'

She started making social media diaries nine months ago to document how her life had changed since transitioning.

It also allowed her to connect with other transgender people online which has helped her to accept herself.

She said: 'When I found other trans people and when they would tell their stories and how they felt, I though "oh my gosh" this is what I am.

'Looking back at all the pictures and videos, it's like looking at a completely different person.

'Not even physical, it feels like my insides changed too, the way i felt about things.'

Claire is close friends with other transgender women and when the group hit the beach for the programme, it was Claire's first time in a bikini.

She said: 'It's a big day today because it's the first time I've ever been to the beach as Claire.

I don't know how I feel about it. I'm really excited but at the same time, I'm not nervous I don't know what to expect.'

Claire and her friends were on the look out a date and admitted they hoped to meet 'cute guys'.

As the camera followed the girls they started chatting to two men and appeared to hit it off.

One asked: 'What kind of guys are you into?'

Claire replied: 'I like the guys who are really funny.'

The boys call Claire 'gorgeous' and took her number, with one asking if he should put her in his phone under 'beautiful.'

But when Claire later revealed they were transgender she didn't hear from them again.

She said: 'Most guys I've met, I meet them one time literally, and after that nothing.'

'I've never had an actual relationship and it's kind of odd to me. What is the issue, is it me?'

'Once I have the surgery I think that will change a lot for me because now if I meet a straight guy who doesn't know we can't get physical.

However she acknowledges that 'if I don't tell him and then if he finds out' it will lead to complications.

Claire has already started taking steps to go through the surgery which will complete her transition.

She has considered having a boob job, her Adam's apple shaved and then gender reassignment surgery, but she's aware of how hard it will be to go through.

She said: 'I have to be prepared for it physically and mentally.'

Currently she has her facial hair removed with laser treatment once a month.

She said: 'Less than a year ago, I had a full on beard.

'I had to shave twice a day. I would never wish for a woman to go through this.'

Although Claire met a new man, Jason, through a dating site and they appear to be getting on well, Jason later tells her he isn't interested in a romantic relationship with her.

She's disheartened and is seen crying outside his flat following their date.

She said: 'I don't know what's wrong with me I'm going to be 21 soon and I haven't even had a relationship for even a month.

Well no ****

This is where those want/acceptance guys fall on the reasonable side. Just cuz dudes accept transgender ppl don't mean they gonna wanna go out with you

You will be rejected because of your penis.

Gonna have to find dudes on the DL claiming they're still straight to have relationships. They exist. I see them on Jerry Springer Show all the time.

-I see nothing wrong with a man not wanting to be in a romantic relationship with a transgender woman just because she is transgender.

Ole girl in the article kind has to come to terms with the fact that most men she runs into will be like that.

-Second, I can already see this thread turning into another opportunity for dudes to come into here to vent their ignorance and bigotry about the transgender community as a whole. :smh:

-I don't see the point of this article really, or why it warrants a thread. A transgender woman is being naive about her prospects, what's the big deal?

Hopefully she finds a guy to share her life with, but she needs to kinda come to terms the fact it will be relatively much harder for her than it would be for a cisgender girl.

That guy on twitter's name is tuckontherise. He must've been tricked a few times with a well done meat tuck between the legs.

This is the problem.

These women want to be seen as women bu they are not women.

They want straight guys and they are not going to get them.

This is why so many of them are depressed, because no matter how many surgeries they get dont they still have to reveal they were born a man when they get into a serious relationship. This is not good for your mental health. To do everything to change who you are and still not be accepted when you make those changes.

"I will only date/marry/like women who were born with a vagina and a uterus"

This is what dating profiles have to say now.
