DNA Evidence Proves That The First People In China Were Black

The point of my post isn't to bash PR people its to say i wish I could have the same experience and feel the pride about my roots that they and other groups feel about theres. African American is too general for me to feel any strong pride around.

How is AA to general when only one nation on this planet can claim that title? Just comes off to me you are starting to believe the propaganda that black americans aint squat that white supremeacy feeds the world.

Lol we obviously aren't seeing this in the same light. Let me reitterate I love being black. I wouldnn't trade it for anything. But imo being labeled African American doesn''t tell my whole story and I wish I knew more about my roots to identify with more of my story.

there are tribes that look like straight up caramel skinned asian people

and some asians look just like black people

kalahari desert people
Im 100% sub saharan african and there are south east asians darker than me. We have to stop referring to Africa as if it is a race of people and not a land with thousands of different people who differ at a genetic level. We dont refer to chinese and indians in the same context as we do for say an Ethiopian and a Nigerian. It almost goes to show the lack of respect people have for Africa where they group diverse people into one bucket lol.
i definitely refer to chinese/vietnamese/taiwanese all as Asian

foreign whites (im american) as European

and all arabs as Arab or mid-eastern

is it ignorance? yea, but it shouldnt be taken offensively

How does being called dominican tell the whole story?

Only thing I relize is that the term African- American is null and void. I was born in America... ok, so what you can trace my roots to Africa.
Everyone is traced to Africa. White people in this country are African American too. Where ever someone migrated from, like Ireland, they
really Irish African. So, we either drop the African or add it to everything?...

You trolling right?
just a tad :D

I already admitted that using Dominicans as an example didn't necessarily get my point across, but the others (Irish, Scottish, Korean, PR, etc) definitely do. However, I do believe some places do have Dominican festivals/carnivals and you see that pride around being Dominican and not just black. If Chicago was to throw some sort of African American festival what distinguishing qualities would it have? American flags? Hip-hop/r&b music? Soul food? Idk it just sounds much more bland to me than any of the other groups I listed.

Just say you want to know your roots pre America, you bringing up DR And PR like they aint in the same boat as you. If you want to know your roots take a DNA test and research the nation/ethnic group you have the largest % of.

It's no secret that the original people were of African descent, but this article just makes me even more sad that us black people truly do not know our roots

I talk to my white friends they know if they are Irish, German, Scottish etc..

I talk to my Asian friends they know if they are Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc...

I talk to my Latino friends they know if they are Mexican, Puerto Rican, Dominican, etc...

All I know is that I am black. This may not be the case for ALL black people but the majority of African Americans like myself just have to identify as black

9 times out of 10 your a mix of a bunch of african ethinic groups, same goes for the dominican friend of yours who you think knows their roots. Lol folks gotta understand pretty much everyone in the western hempishere is a mix of something.
Yea I understand that we most likely are a mix of a bunch of african ethnic groups at this point, but what groups would that be? I don't know. I've seen the heated debates about Dominicans on here and whether or not they are considered black, but at least they know they are Dominican. I have no idea where my roots trace back to.
It's not your fault you don't know your roots, blame good ol' Imperialism Slavery and Willie Lynch. It's the same for me, my people was dropped in Jamaica during slavery and that's all I know roots wise. As long as you respect and understand that your true nationality is African you are good bruh.
I can't remember which one it was but Hidden Colors went real deep into this.
There is a HC thread for those interested in the films.

I dont think its fair to discredit and disregard what blacks in america have done though. Orobably ties into a lack of knowledge of self.

I would never say discredit accomplishments since being forced to come here. We built this country on our backs, unfortunately our ancestors were never given the credit so it weird for us to fight for that 40 acres and a mule when we are distracted by a bunch of BS.

Im referring to the other dude bigging up the DR And PR.

Has anyone in here tried one of those DNA ancestry tests that Oprah was promoting a few years back?

China Has Banned Hip-Hop Culture and Actors With Tattoos From Appearing on Television

China has banned hip-hop culture and actors with tattoos from appearing on television.

The country’s top media regulator — the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China (SAPPRFT) — now “specifically requires that programs should not feature actors with tattoos [or depict] hip hop culture, sub-culture (non-mainstream culture) and dispirited culture (decadent culture),” Sina, a Chinese news outlet, reports.

Gao Changli, director of the administration’s publicity department, outlined four “Don’t” rules on Friday:

Absolutely do not use actors whose heart and morality are not aligned with the party and whose morality is not noble
Absolutely do not use actors who are tasteless, vulgar and obscene
Absolutely do not use actors whose ideological level is low and have no class
Absolutely do not use actors with stains, scandals and problematic moral integrity

The ban follows the removal of the prominent rapper GAI from Hunan TV’s Singer, a hit competition show. Clips of GAI, whose real name is Zhou Yan, were also removed from China Hunan TV’s official Youtube Channel, but no official explanation has been given. He does however appear in the show’s trailer:

Wang Hao, aka PG One, another well-known rapper, was forced to apologize earlier this month after one of his songs, “Christmas Eve,” was criticized for promoting drug culture and insulting women.

Rapper Mao Yanqi, aka VaVa, was cut from the variety show Happy Camp, according to Tecent News. Music by Triple H, an influential underground rapper, has also been removed from major streaming sites. And a contestant on the show Super Brian, which is not hip-hop related, even had his hip-hop style necklace blurred out.

Chinese social media has responded angrily to the ban.

“SARPPFT is so trashy! They didn’t want to give Chinese hip pop singers any chance of survival! we can go back to ancient times,” wrote one user on Weibo — China’s equivalent of Twitter.

“How can a government with high culture have such childish logic?” asked another.

I did an ancestry DNA test around August. Was pretty cool and informative. Not sure how accurate the results are but they make sense for me. Heres my results...
