I've begun to wonder this too. Almost all the actual Black Friday deals can be copped during the whole month of November with some stores' "pre Black Friday" sales online. Plus with sites like groupon and slickdeals, you can catch some of these deals year round if you get lucky. Black Friday seems to have just been spread throughout all of November imo

Most of those cheap priced tvs on black friday are just that cheap tvs. Basically stock the stores are trying to move for new inventory, and the price of the "sale" is more than likely a slight narkup of the actual value of the tv
Imo no the deals arent worth it and these stores are opening during dinner time, forcing employees to come in and work. Now folks are eating thanksgiving lunch instead of dinner. I went over night once when it was actually on friday around 3am .. but this thursday evening stuff is

I, too, once had no social life or yamb prospects on the horizons and would have totally justified sleeping outside of a store for three days to get a deal. If I am going to be lonely, I might as well be lonely with a cheap t.v.
