Any NTers ever been to PRISON? Vol. thankful for freedom

I did a prison bid back in 06-07, for aggravated battery, it was straight. I was at indian river correctional institute, which is closed down now. A lot of fighting, a lot of pranks being pulled, a bunch of games played and bets being made, drugs being used, but a whole lot of fighting. Like, I made the best of a bad experience, but I wouldn't want to relive it. I can see how dudes become habitual offenders. I ain't going back though....

Did you get in a lot of fights? Were dudes punk testing you?

Who would cover this up? And conservatives would have been flipping their **** if they had any evidence of this.

Dude straight up made it up, probably for folk to be outraged.
I'll post pics of forms from when I was hired today.

I done time served in Parish Jail (year). And I been to jail countless times.  Young and Dumb. From petty offense, misdemeanors, and several felonies.

My jacket is long since the age of 15. Fed/State Prison, no.

My father done 14 years in Feds. Countless cousins done both state and feds.

3 close childhood friends I grew-up with are lifers and went straight to Angola after high school.

My best friend done a year in Parish jail and 2 years on house arrest and 8 years on papers (comes off next year) for murder.  Hates every minute of it.

None to say, we changed our lives...never looked back. (My best friend and I) I can't say the same for others.

I still have countless homeboys/cousins that done time in state/parish and still doing the same thing.

Nothing to brag about and surely nothing I would want to experience again.  My daughter saved my life and gave me more to live for.

Why would you even risk your job getting hepatitis..?
 Fixed.

I worked in a female state prison for a couple years. Dirty *** place. I got treated like royalty by the inmates though because I was responsible for releasing them on parole.

I got into a few fights...I got my card pulled before and I've pulled cards. It happens to everyone. Nobody is invncible. But if you keep to yourself and handle business when it's time to, you will be aite. Just don't be a sucker, soft or weak sissy. Be a man in there, you come home a man.

I would believe the person who works in the prison over anyone else. You know how hey lie to cover things up out here.

Who would cover this up? And conservatives would have been flipping their **** if they had any evidence of this.

I'm confused what are you claiming he lied about?

I'm saying he is lying about gender reassignment going on in the jail that he works in, and that they are paid with tax payer dollars.

He said a ton of them take place, and I posted an article saying that none have taken place anywhere in United States so far.

And that only last month did California become the first state with such a policy.

I'm not questioning whether or not he works at the jail, I'm questioning his claim that "tax payer funded" gender reassignment surgeries happen in his place of work all the time

Washington Post April 3

If the department complies, Norsworthy reportedly will be the first transgender inmate in California to undergo the operation. The procedure could cost the state as much as $100,000, Joyce Hayhoe, a spokeswoman for California Corrections Health Care Services told the Los Angeles Times.

Here is the follow up Article, one month later:

http://www.latimes.com/local/politi...or-sexreassignment-inmate-20150521-story.html

May 21, 2015

"Norsworthy’s attorneys at the Transgender Law Center said they were “thrilled” with her parole grant, noting that if the procedure is not performed in prison, Norsworthy will have access to government-paid “gender-affirming” surgery under Medi-Cal."

From August: http://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-inmate-transgender-20150810-story.html

August 10, 2015

California has nearly 400 transgender inmates receiving hormonal treatment, according to prison medical data. Quine's lawyers said their research shows the cost of the operation she seeks ranges from $15,000 to $25,000.

Let me know if you need further proof.

As you can see, my first day was August 24th. This date is comfortably after gender reassignment surgeries have been granted to California prisons. There are roughly 30 transgender inmates at my facility, 2 of them have already received surgery in the 2 months I've been working there. 2/30 in 2 months for a 5 figure treatment is a TON to me. The others receive hormone therapy that is PAID FOR WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS. The surgeries are PAID FOR WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS.

You can believe the charge nurse (me) who works at the Jail, or you can believe that I'm in here just to start political propaganda to get people riled up...

Your original statement

I worked in Santa Ana county jail in southern California (OC) as an RN. Lotta crazy stuff...

They tazed one guy and the tazer prongs are like a fishhook, had to pry them out with tweezers.

They put the homosexuals and transgenders together in a unit.. They all raped each other like crazy, had to separate them.

Prisoners will retaliate if they really don't like their care by going on hunger strike, not eating anything.

Tons of transgender reassignment surgeries, using tax payer dollars to pay for it. Roughly 40% of the surgeries get reversed, using taxpayer dollars.
If they're not reversed, taxpayer dollars to pay for the constant hormone therapy.

They really do sweeps of hookers/drug addicts/illegal immigrants.

Lot more people do Meth than you think

So a "ton" is 2 surgeries; and 40% of 2 is .8. So .8 gender reassessment reversal surgeries were performed in your jail

And the criteria spelled out in the article I posted even says that a prisoner can't just request it and get one.

A doctors and psychologists have to approve it, and the prison has to be on hormone therapy for a year and be requesting the surgery for two years.

But somehow your facility popped put two out already? Really?

You were caught in a lie, just admit it famb.

Jeez

You can believe the charge nurse (me) who works at the Jail, or you can believe that I'm in here just to start political propaganda to get people riled up...

I never doubted you worked in the jail, I'm doubting your comment about the reassignment surgeries.

And your words speak for themselves, me saying you did this as some sort of political agenda would be conjecture on my start.

But I'm not gonna lie, I'm wondering why you would make something like this up

You misunderstand. A ton is 2 surgeries in 2 months (maybe this is subjective on my part, but... Yes, I consider that a ton) . The 40% figure is of the surgeries that are done, then REVERSED. They get the surgery to have new gender, using tax payer dollars, then they get the surgery REVERSED to go back to their original. So of the 2 people that have had it, 1 of them got it reversed, using tax payer dollars.

If I could post documents proving they were done and the amounts used, I would. You can choose not to believe my word, but that's the extent of the proof I can provide without getting fired.
done, thanks.

done, thanks.

I didn't misunderstand a thing brah, your words are clear as day, unless you meant to write something else.

I simply don't believe you. And you're clearly trying to backtrack a lil now

-First off, you want me to believe from the end of August someone got clearance for a gender reassignment surgery, had the surgery done, recovered from it, lived life a second, decided they wanted it reverse, got approval for the reversal and got it done.

In that small amount of time, that is a major reach famb.

-Second, I have no idea where you're getting the 40% figure from, there is no way to know exactly how many gender reassignment surgeries get reversed because we don't have solid figures of how many gender assignment surgeries take place in the first place; since so many people have them overseas.

And even further that, it is even harder to make predictions for the prison population based data from the general public.

Even further to that from your extremely tiny sample, you have a 50% rate, not 40%.

-Third, the article I posted from the times says they ave no idea how many inmates will have the surgery because, most people choose not too.

And if they are speculating, why not mention that two surgeries and one reversal has already been done on the tax payer dime. It seems like not a single one has been done yet. And the court case was only them agreeing to do it on a specific inmate, the guidelines in October is what extended them to all the others.

From the article YOU posted

"A settlement is not a precedent, but I suppose it gives a little ammunition to the next guy, to say you did this for him, why not me?" said Kent Scheidegger, legal director for the Criminal Justice Legal Foundation, a conservative organization based in Sacramento that weighs in on criminal justice litigation across the nation. Those requests are bound to eventually force another legal challenge, he said.

You don't need to provide any more proof of anything, because I'm convince you simply not being honest.

My little brother rang me the other day.
Haven't spoke to him in a minute, he told me, he's got 18 years left till he is eligible for parole, he's eating good chicken and rice, dumplings, pushing weights, told me it ain't nothing he'll be home in a **** and a shave. |I

On the other hand his words to me were, I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy.
