If there are any fellow shoe artists out there, I need your help!
I've only ever done custom work on canvas Vans, but I'm trying to expand a little bit. I designed a pair of Nike's for a friend. At first the design looked super fresh, then after she played in them, the paint cracked on the midsole. I used Posca water based paint pens and put on an acrylic finish. Obviously the Posca pens weren't the best choice.
Any suggestions on what media to use so as to avoid the paint cracking? How can I prep the surface of the shoe better?
Any advice helps people. Can't nobody be walkin 'round with cracked paint on their Nikes. Help me put an end to cracked paint!
