A New Jersey woman has been charged with making fake threats against black students at Kean University last month.

Kayla-Simone McKelvey, 24, of Union Township faces one count of creating a false public alarm.

The Union County prosecutor’s office says McKelvey participated in a Nov. 17 rally on racial issues at Kean and then went to a computer station in a campus library and posted anonymous threats on Twitter against black students.

McKelvey then allegedly returned to the rally and tried to raise awareness about the threats. One tweet made reference to a bomb on campus; others were about shooting black students.

She’s scheduled to make a court appearance in two weeks.

It wasn’t immediately known Tuesday if McKelvey had retained an attorney.

Kean released a statement saying it is “saddened” to learn a former student and rally participant was allegedly behind the threats.

“As a diverse academic community, we wholeheartedly respect and support activism, however, no cause or issue gives anyone the right to threaten the safety of others,” the school said. “We hope this information will begin to bring a sense of relief and security to the campus community.”

A campus library computer though? She couldn't go to a hole in the wall internet cafe or something? I wouldn't even be surprised if she had to login with her student account too smh.

This kind of epitomizes what people hate about social justice warriors. Sometimes it feels like they just like being mad about something. They gotta be fake outraged at something, they'll create it themselves if they have to.

When this happened I contacted people that go there to make sure they were safe and realized no one really cared about the threats. I can't help but laugh at this though, most of these social media activist are $3 bill phony.

she had to get back to the protest and let everyone know

I'm convinced this happens a lot more than we know of. Most people that do it are probably smarter about covering their tracks.

The fact that she didn't use any racial slur once in any of those tweets proves that this was doomed to fail. I don't seen any n words, co-on, gator bait, etc in those tweets to even believe that a bigot wrote em.

This sounds like something a certain NTer would do #noshade #nonames

These activists make a career out of this. I know a chick who is a feminist and that's like her actual career. It's sad but they make a living out of controversy and I'm not surprised some of it is manufactured or blown out of proportion.
thoughts?
