Engagement Vol: Its Time

Yea I have a heart, so i won't do that to her ... she deserves so much more. I just want her to be excited...Its not a doubt in my mind shell say yes but its just getting the question out...Im sure once Im there Ill have some crazy over the top idea.. Ill definitely have to update this thread once it goes down
Definitely! I'm excited for you so you HAVE to let us know how it turns out and what you end up doing... If I have any fantastic ideas in the next few days, I'll post (though it's highly unlikely).

You just have to make sure that whatever you do is going to be special and exciting. It doesn't have to be over the top but you want it to be a fun story to tell for years and years. My husband and I mutually decided to get married while laying in bed one night, so it's extremely unromantic. I'm living vicariously through your future fiancé, so whatever you do better be good!

Good luck though!

Aw congrats! Dont be boring an unromantic every girl wants a sweet proposal and it makes a great story because literally everyone always asks. Just put thought to it and you must have some clue of what type of ring she would like. She's not never dropped hints? If not ask someone that really knows her and her taste. You want to get her a ring she will love because she  will be wearing this every day! Also go to smaller jewelry shops instead like the big ones at the mall they will completely rip you off. Good Luck OP!

Never understood why people do these crazy proposals. Seems like people care more about bragging to others than the actual event itself

It's about personal preference, some people are more outward with their relationship, others are private...your proposal should fit both of your personalities, just because you do a more elaborate proposal doesn't mean you are doing it for bragging rights, simply that's the way you excercise and show your love....others find it better to just do it in the privacy of their home while watching TV...nothing wrong with either or, things go sour when one party doesn't know the other well enough to propose the right way, if you know your girl is the quiet, shy type you might be in for a rude awakening if you propose to her during halftime at the Super Bowl on the middle of the field while Eli Manning and Tom Brady lift you both on their shoulders, on the same till if your girl likes big surprises, is social and not shy at all, you propose to her while sitting on your couch with pajamas on while watching Netflix, she will probably look at the act as thoughtless....like you didn't even try.

For some people, it's knowing that someone put that much thought, time, and effort into it. If you've ever read Gary Chapman's "The Five Love Languages", you'll understand it a lot better.

OP - I copped a fugazi ring on Amazon for like 5.00 just to do the act with and catch her completely off guard. When we got home from the trip, I took her ring shopping that way she was surprised AND got to pick a ring she liked. Some people I've spoken to went ring shopping together first, and then the proposal came later. Just my 2 cents.

i like that idea...the ring isnt too much of a big deal because shes not really a jewelery person to begin with..but i do want it to be nice. Hopefully my taste isnt terrible.

OP has only been with and known this girl for 3 months??

seriously?? thats like lust phase at its finest. good luck man.

I'm not asking nobody for permission to marry the woman I been supporting and living with for 5 years.
