Mass shooting in San Bernardino

And Americans didn't celebrate when bombs were dropped on Baghdad?

We gon' act like we didn't go to Iraq on false pretenses and that the war wasn't illegal?

And that thousands of innocent civilians ain't die?

Oh okay. :rolleyes

The difference between the two is that innocent American civilians were blatantly targeted during 9/11. There was nothing "military" about it. Thousands of innocents in the Middle East die/died, but it's collateral. I'm not defending why we went to Iraq, but it's clear that these extremists TARGET innocent lives.

Spoken like a "true American". That's exactly what they want you to be believe.

Killing innocent people is killing innocent people.

While I do agree that Americans are generally very uncomfortable with the idea of targeting civilians, we are generally accepting of the high amount collateral damage our militarily actions cause

For example, Bush and Obama haven't caught enough flack for the use of predator drones.

Both of these examples are messed up though. Everything gotta be about revenge and the get back (no pun intended @GetBack) and making sure you murder more people than the other guy. This planet going down in flames I swear :smh:

Side note I was watching cnn they asked why they only fled to Redlands about 10 min away instead of getting as far as possible to like LA or Vegas...obviously never experienced SoCal traffic

The area of San Bernardino (Inland Empire) is already notoriously racist, the atmosphere there after this should be amazing

I would have to agree. Any collateral sacrificed during the execution of our missions seems expendable by all accounts. No denying that. It's pretty sad, but it's how the US military rolls.

Rip to ththe victims .....

InWork in an office with people who bash Muslims, gays,Obama, etc. on a daily

I can already see the arguments I'm going to be In tomorrow .... Going to have to try my best not to get too heated and get fired smh

Which part? And please provide evidence debunking what I said. I'm not trying to argue or be disrespectful.

The collateral damage excuse doesn't fly. Other countries kill innocent people, America kills innocent people. America just knows how to dress it up and make it look good, make themselves look like the heroes. Other countries are up front about it.

or

"don't blame all muslims for the action of a few"

"blame all police for the action of a few"

The double standards on here are wild. No logic.
The difference being that when someone commits an act of terror in the name of Islam, most Muslims condemn him while when a policeman kills an unarmed person, the official stance of the police is to defend that murderous act and the cop who did it isn't punished.

And who here blames ALL police exactly? Or the very notion of police or "policeing" for being inherently violent and out to kill innocent people like some blame Islam?

Oh BS. Save me the "it's collateral" nonsense. The war in Iraq was overtly illegal, nothing collateral after the fact.

And I love how you overlook everything else America was involved in prior to 9/11. Proxy wars in the middle-east? Involvement in the Soviet-Afghan war? The CIA training and arming Afghan mujahideen to fight the Soviets (Operation Cyclone)?

***** been going on since the 80s b. America had such a hard on for Russia we did whatever we could to hurt 'em so long as it didn't directly sully our own hands.

As a result we destabilized the middle east. That ain't even the half. You think America helping out the Kurds is a good idea? Mull that one over slick and get back to me.

And in the end, don't act like we don't OVERTLY TARGET innocent lives. We murdered Anwar Al-Awlaki's teenage son, an American citizen without due process. A ******* child. We drop bombs on foreign cities with zero regard and under false pretenses.

You can rationalize it all you want, you can sprinkle glitter on **** all you want, the fact is we have as a nation targeted innocent lives, we have engaged in terrorism, and we have committed war crimes.

You can sprinkle glitter on **** it's still ****. Neither side in this is the 'good guy'.

Even the term "collateral damage", that's a propaganda buzzword force fed to the American public so that we can sleep at night. FOH b.

How is my example messed up?

It's true . Folks want to act like they weren't acting positively GIDDY at the sight of Baghdad being lit up.

And as if there weren't a ton of Americans going "welp, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" when it was found out that there were no WMDs. That the war was illegal, that Bush and Cheney were war criminals and violated the UN Charter.

Over 100,000 Iraqi civilians, dead. 100,000.

I don't necessarily think all police defend bad cops. I think most are just too afraid to be outspoken about it.

I didn't mean messed up as in false, I meant messed up as in wtf are human beings doing to each other.

Police culture of defending there own is what makes things so bad

Until cops start getting hit with RICO charges, having the pensions stripped and having to pay up come union contract time, things will never change.

We need to incentivize snitching on bad cops. Only then things might get better

I blame all police. I don't see police often testifying against their own and I don't see them lobbying to do away with unjust laws.

In fact just the opposite, police lobby groups are in fact the most powerful in America. The CCPOA (California Correctional Peace Officers Association) actively lobbies to keep unjust laws and policies in place. After all, gotta keep that prison industrial complex churning. Keeps 'em pockets fat!!!

But that's a different story, and a rather poor comparison.

The majority of police don't condemn locking up non-violent offenders the way VAST MAJORITY of muslims condemn these barbarian, piece of **** scumbag extremists.

You can PM me if you want to have a pissing contest. Not going to derail the thread anymore.

It's not a pissing contest, it's just the truth. You asked to be disproven if possible, you're more than welcome to attempt to disprove ANYTHING I have said thus far.

You can't. Nobody can.

Understood and agreed.

If I ain't have a family I would legit up and move to some random island somewhere. I rather deal with rising sea levels and climate change than deal with everything else.

Eh, I actually think I agree with you in principle. There really is no good guy.

Man **** that let them have it. Especially if you are one of the groups they clown on.

How could there be a good guy?

No matter what label is attached to it, no matter the politics, all it is is humans killing humans over power. Power of resources, power of societal structure, power over truth, power over your psychology, power over the public consciousness.

But wait....

It's okay to be "scared" and not speak out against injustice if you're a cop?

Hmm, interesting, because the overwhelming sentiment in America was that it was justified to bomb civilian areas to take out 'intended targets' if they were "harboring" or "aiding and abetting" such targets.

But, many of those civilians were scared themselves.

Hell, in Afghanistan, when the jihadis come knocking on your door, what are you going to do? Not open and let 'em in? I mean, yeah, that's a savvy move. I mean it's not like they won't just murk you and your entire family and take your spot anyways, right?

I mean those night raids by our JSOC forces in Afghanistan claimed a LOT of civilian casualties. But that's okay right?

I mean when does the **** glittering session end with you and others who continue to justify American transgression? When do we as a nation come together and take accountability?

Because until WE as a nation do, we give those in power free rein to continue the vicious cycle for their ulterior motives.

No. But the American police force isn't exactly comprised of Frank Serpicos.
