The Air Jordan XVI returns in 2016

the III that released september 01 that don't have a color scheme listed were the mochas.. i remember copping every pair of the low XI that released together .. i remember being a freshman rocking one carolina and one red at the same time..

Mocha IIIs got serious hate when they were released. They sat on shelves for months. Funny how they're on Ebay now fetching $400-$500.

Sept 15 2001. Horrible release date, for obvious reasons.

9-11 had nothing to do with the Mochas bombing

People just didn't like the shoe. That was common with Retro + colorways back then

yea back then no one liked the retro+ .. back then the retro concept was a new thing . yes i know it was tried in 94 and it bombed.. and i know it started in 99, but no one wanted anything but OG color ways retroed because the concept was fresh still.. man what a time.. but i loved those mochas. i didn't miss a release that whole year. besides those mocs.

Correct. [emoji]128169[/emoji] was steaming hot. Everything that came our way was digested. Just funny how thing turned out. When we were all hype at the time, JB was trying to get in.

Hmmm. I don't know. Makes you wonder. I would be less excited about the newest j's so close to a tragedy of that caliber. Picture if you lived in Manhattan.

I'm late, those the Midnight Navy's in the first post? :nerd:
Hope they retro those and the black/red's . I don't think there was one bad colorway of the 16's, at least in my opinion.

They only released 2 colorways of the regular AJ16 (black/reds & white/navys) and 2 more for the AJ16+ (cherrywoods & gingers) plus 2 low cuts (white/reds & black/silvers).

Nowadays JB Spams us with tons of colorways which are mostly not good looking, generic or even ugly.

And the Mocha's sat on shelves for months and months. You could find pairs inside Marshall's for $20-40, and people still didn't buy them.

Same thing happen with the Laneys too

Mochas weren't $20 at Marshall's, unless they were a size 15.. Common sizes did go on discount and sellout at The Athlete's Foot and Footlocker though but I can't remember the price.

I'm in for a new pair of black/red 16's for sure. Had the OG's and beat them up good in college. My friend had the navy's and back in those days I couldn't afford both pairs so that'll change if they drop both. One of my favorite models for sure.

No need for the other colorways, never liked them.

Put me down for a pair of black/red. If they release Cherrywoods I'd probably cop those and definitely would pick up a pair of white/red lows.

Are the black/red and white/navy pairs both confirmed for this year? If so, does anyone know when they'll release??
