Official tax refund thread vol. for the 2015 tax year

I owe about $200. I goofed. Should have reduce my income by selling the full $3k worth of losses. I ****** up.

If anyone doesn't actually want a large refund, I found this wage bracket method chart rather helpful
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p15.pdf
Page 46. All else equal, You can raise or lower your allowances to get more or less back.

Say you made a grand a week. Zero allowances would have $159 withheld. With 3 allowances, they would withhold $101. So depending on your refund amount from the year prior and everything staying the same, you can see if that $3 grand later , or $58/week is more useful to you.

There is NO free money. You may have other liabilities, so it may be safe to have more taken out. Some seem to let the government take advantage of them, and then feel like they are rewarding you. It;s called a refund for a reason.
