As we wrap up the year, looking back what are you guys thoughts on the brand as a whole? The 'remastered' process? Best Release? Worse Release?

Imo, this year was good, alot of classics came back, I think the quality of the retros were very good, could have been better

Copped the most jays i ever did this year, gotta slow down next year but with the Metallics being announced, and maybe the 16's, that may not happen (Just release oxy 14's Jb if you are reading)

Best Release: Oreos :pimp:
Worst Release: Marvin the martians :wow: :x

Thoughts?

REMASTERED = Money grab
the good = more quantity more consistently so getting shoes has been easier than before
the bad = REMASTERED = Money grab

I will wait until I have the xis in hand for my final verdict.

Overall this was a solid year from jb besides the increased prices. To me, this was the year of the lows. Between the xi, xiii, and vi, there were many great colorways released. Throw in the aquas, oreo ivs, 72-10 xi, some of the viis, and it was a great year. Another thing that has become apparent is the super limited shoes are also super ugly! Between those purple iis, the ovo x, the quai xiii, and the dB xiii, you could give me one of those to go bowling in!

So far for me:

Best release - Georgetown Xi
Sleeper Release - 3peats viii or mtm vii
Worst Release - the ugly sweater vii

The remastered shoes were definitely better than anything I've bought from JB since around 2006. The price increase was not great but with the increased quantities and increased price it did make it easier to buy most shoes. My favorites were the Chicago X's, FB VII's and maroon VI's.

Oreo 4s were my fav
The sweater 7s were my worse
 
Best: Chi 1s, SBB 1s, Columbia/LB 4s, Bordeaux 7s and Aqua 8s (in that order)

Underated: 3peat 8s, Laser 1s, and Chrome low 6s (again lol)

Worst: Sweater 7s, DB 13s, and Pro-Star 5s (all 3 were awful)

Highlights: Chi 1s, Aquas, (hopefully) the Chrome 8s

Underrated: OG Lowtop 1s

Worst: Too many


A year into it, the whole "Remastered" idea seems like an excuse to bump up the retro prices even more. Don't get me wrong, the quality on some of the releases is definitely better than what we've gotten in a while, its only on some releases, while they upped the prices everywhere.

I did like the random CP3 PE release, hope we start to see more of that
 
the good: material usage is finally starting to shift directions. shoes were becoming cheaper and cheaper material wise, now they're starting to slightly reverse it. we'll see how long that lasts and how far they actually take it.

the bad: they want $200 for sneakers

My top releases of the year:

1. Oreo IV

2. Chicago I

3. Legend Blue IV

4. Maroon VI

5. Chicago X

6. White / Metallic V

7. Hare VII

Say what you want about the remastered program, but the quality has definitely been moving in the right direction.

We have the return of Nike Air, a much better midsole paint that doesn't crack as easily, and better leather on certain releases.

I agree 100%, we jist have to see more oh colorways release
 
I think the worst will always be an unoriginal colorway.

Before some of you start pointing out The Maroon 6, I think that shoe was released in bad timing. Should have released next year instead.

Gotta open up your mind a bit bruh. Oreo and Columbia IVs are fire.

Best- the remastered AJ1 series. All of them.
Underrated - low 6 chrome
Worst - sweater 7

I just wanted to pick one shoe for each category buy the best was hard to pick based on SBB, frags, chi 1, etc.
 
Best: 1a: aqua 8; 1b: Georgetown 11

Sleeper: anthracite 9. Runner up: the 3 peat 8

Worst: sweater 7.

Sneakers that probably would be considered among the best, but I didn't purchase so I can't say: cp3 13, all the og 1s, Oreo 4
 
Best: SBB 1, maroon 6s, UNC 1, Chicago 1, Aqua 8, Hare 7, Just Don 2
Worst: Pro Star 5, Statue 9
 
Best - Oreo 4's, SBB and Chicago 1's

VERY underrated - Laser 1's (the quality is on par with SBB 1's IMHO), Pinnacle 1's

Worst - Pro star and Hornet 5's, Sweater 7's, all the new 7's CW
 
My fav cops were unc 1s hare 7 bred ll low cp3 13s maroon 6. Chi 1s easily stole tha show....AND I COULDN'T COP NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRIED BOOOOWHOOOO
 
Best going off how original it was to it's counterpart. And the nominations are: Oreo 4s, Colombia 4s, Hare 7s, Bordeaux 7s, Maroon 6s, Aqua 8s, Chicago 1s, & UNC 1s.

Best: Chicago 1s

Underrated: Laser 1s, French Blue 7s, Royal low 1s, Bred low 1s

Overrated: OVO, SBB, Just Dons

Worst: Tie Ugly Sweater 7s & Pro Star 5s
