Jordan getting rid of release dates in 2016

Maroon 6 was not available for any discount not points not employee not even military in footlocker stores

This was not a footlocker call

Nike forced this on footlocker

Laney 14 was far more limited than maroon et those were not excluded

Nike forced the no discount to make more money because sales are down

@vampire xtc How would footlocker offering a discount on a shoe affect Nike's bottomline? Aren't the shoes already sold to FTL at wholesale from Nike, anything after that should only affect FTL. I would have thought FTL didn't allow discounts because their sales are down. Sorry, just trying to understand this here...

It's not that simple unfortunately

Regardless of wholesale pricing Nike is allowed to call the shots on how a release is done or if a discount of any sort is allowed

Nike limits this discount fairly often but it doesn't come up much in discussion as it's normally on a lot of quick strike releases

In the maroon case it was not allowed on a fairly general release which is odd

But it's what Nike wanted it was this way or no shoe lol

Nike will punish you or reward you based on how you work with them

Don't wanna follow discount Nike forcing on you?

Ok cool guess what next several releases low stock or none overall for a Ton of stores

Play nice with Nike

Ok cool here is a higher allocation of a QS or this was going to be online only but here take a store level allotment

Etc...

Nike is an enormous bully regardless of wholesale pricing in many ways from discounts

To forcing a high allocation of crap on stores in order to allow them to have a high allocation of a big release etc..

Nike is at the level of run with us or get ran over were Nike do something we dare you lol

Isn't this how FTL lost the ability to carry retro Jordans for awhile back in the 2000s? Failure to play by Nikes rules?

Back doors may be harder. If everyone is heckling employees for oops, I'm sure it'll be harder and our they'll start charging for oops. Backdoors will then become mainstream which will be followed by complaints/letters which would start getting many employees and managers fired.

they'll probably just wait for every store to get their shipments then announce that's when they'll release instead of waiting 2 weeks to a month to release

If this is what we have to expect them I'm good. This reminds me of the maroons when we thought they'd drop between the range of October-December. Not bad at all to be honest.View media item 1834445

think the RR ii's & alternate iv's

will be moved up ... most stores have had them since 2nd week of DEC & they've been out on display

I think we can say that Dino was wrong on this or Nike has intelligently decided that most of us would probably not put up with the BS that surrounds no release dates. Good decision to continue with release dates JB.

except he didn't say it would start right away. he said around March

He said that the retailers (Footlocker) were using a placeholder system. The system is when the retailers will receive the product, not when the product will be available for purchase.  It has nothing to do with the release of the product.

So the shoes could release on a weekday now? I imagine that would be a hinderance for Middle school and High school students but College students will be alright.  Though couldn't resellers just purchase the shoes (if they have the spare time) and that would make everything worse?

Nah I think the shoes will still have release dates and retailers will still announce them and hold raffles etc. These placeholder dates are for people with nike accounts. I guess this means that at one point in time account holders could have expected a shipment of a release they ordered down to the week. But now the time span could be extended to a month or more where they could expect the shoe to come in. There will still be release dates

I asked my boy at Finishline (Store Manager) if he knows anything about this, and he said no. So I don't think this is as cut out and dry as Dino is making it sound. Something as crazy as this would've been announced to management by now.

I will retire if they go to no release dates. I'm use to planning ahead for releases. I don't want to deal with random release dates. I'm one of those people who hate surprises so it will be easy for me to quit. I don't have time for that non sense.

Flint 12s you say

So although some releases are getting pushes back, seems like the release dates are still being announced?
