Another tipping thread... Vol. nawghtyhare come on in

Bartenders make so much money I hate when they want to complain about one person not tipping. Especially if you had tipped them multiple times before that. I'm supposed to tip you EVERY TIME you grab me a beer? I know bartenders making over 200-300 bucks a night and still want to cry about one person not tipping. It's absolutely ridiculous. I agree you should tip when you can especially on the first round or two of drinks, but if dude would of called me out of my name I would of had to approach him.

As for pick ups I don't normally tip that's the whole point of picking up the food. My thai is a nice little mom and pop joint. I'll throw them a 1-2 dollar tip here and there just because their prices are so low and I rock with them. It definitely isn't required in my book though.

And just a note I live strictly off tips as well and I never get mad when a person doesn't tip. That's how the game goes. It's not legally required and it all comes full circle. Just because one dude didn't tip doesn't mean I'm not making any money. Next dude could tip 20 dollars and make up for it.

1. Not tipping is questionable but after how the clown acted after not getting tipped, he doesn't deserve a tip

2. only consider tipping when a server brings food to you

1. Fine by me and I'm a heavy bar tipper, or used to be. The bartenders at these dc spots give **** service expecting big tips. You had what you had, they'll be ok.

Your mans is a **** boi

2. I never tip takeout, sorry. What's the logic?

Crazy how cheap yall are.
Bartenders may make decent money on a night BECAUSE tips is how they get paid

I always tip takeout, cuz they are doing a service of putting it together for me, boxing and bagging it up, and sometimes theres some service with the pick up, ie giving me water while i wait or bringing it to the curb (Outback). These service workers are paid on tips so the time spent on my food is time pulled away from sevicing their sit down guests. No tip is just cheap and grimey IMO

And yeah for #1 put that on your card fam. OP sound like someone who should be staying in, borrowing a friend's netflix.

***** you sound crazy. So someone making 300-400 dollars A NIGHT is hurting because ONE person didn't tip? You really fell right into their trap. All the bartenders I know are EATING and a couple people not tipping a night won't hurt them. I live off tips and I don't expect nor do I care if everyone tips. I make pretty decent money relatively speaking so I'm not going to cry about a couple people not doing something they're not required to do.

You're also playing yourself for tipping on take out. They put your food in a bag and you came and picked it up. What the hell did they do to deserve to get a tip? They're still making the money off the food. At my local thai joint the damn owner is the one taking calls / bagging orders. I know she's definitely not hurting and I've even asked and she said she doesn't expect people to tip on carry out because it doesn't make sense. You're literally giving away money for no reason in situations where people don't expect you to. I tip on takeout SOMETIMES at mom and pop shops to show my appreciation but at a nation wide chain? You are absolutely tripping.

Dudes must not realize the price they charge GASP is a price that the establishment still makes a profit off of. And in those situations you're not even dealing with a waiter/waitress. I'm real talk confused.

im not mad at you OP but honestly your friend sounds ***** made.

 wait we tipping for boxing, bagging then taking it to go? why don't we tip the minimum wage workers at McD's then? i'm sure they could use it moreso than a bartender or waiter at a sit in establishment making hundreds a night. Where's the line?

The bagger at the grocery store who doesn't take it to your car. What about the person at Footlocker or Macy's. You need to tip the guy who put your Jordan XI's in a bag

I understand tipping people who work off tips, but tipping people for doing their job?

lol I'm not a big tipper myself so I feel you but your friends acting like females didn't help the situation at all either.

I never knew people tipped when they would pick up food orders. Only found out when my friend and I were picking up food we ordered at Hooters. He always tips. Then I saw in a thread here that people do it too.

I never tip when I pick my food up at the local Chinese takeout spots. Except a few times the ladies at Moca would keep the 3-4 cents change for themselves instead of giving it to me.

1. Yes. Personally, I always tip bartenders per drink. You could've paid with the card and tipped with the cash.

2. Nope. You picked it up. I dont believe in tipping for picking up food. They have to cook it regardless.
Yep.

And your "best friend" sounds like a *****. Drop him from your contacts list and never speak to him again.

You're welcome.

Why would I tip during takeout?

Same thing as ordering in person. I'm just giving them my order through a phone or a app (grub hub etc)
