Oregon Ducks Jordan XIV Retro PE

Easiest pass of this century, and I love 14s. Even if I was an Oregon Duck I'd hesitate to rock those on court

We all may be passing. Usually these are F&F or super limited unless you drive to Oregon to cop. Not a big fan of green on J's so meh..
 
Should've done some kinda wing or feather pattern rather than those ridiculous duck faces all over. Terrible
 
I'm going to look at a pair of these today to possibly add to the collection. There are 330 pairs made of this model produced and they come with a Tinker sketch signed by Phil Knight.

Very sought after by those connected to Oregon such alumni. For those not in the area, Oregon is also know as Nike U. Knight denotes a ridiculous amount of money to the university. The arena is named after his son, etc., etc.

Nike started with a track coach from Oregon creating better shoes and testing them on his athletes. Phil Knight was one of them, and grew the business from him also reselling Onitsukas (Asics) from Japan at the time to Nike. Jordan designer Tinker Hatfield was also a track guy at Oregon, and is the guy who designs all the player exclusives for athletes.

Personally love this pair. Only way I would get them is if one of the staff or players on the football team that year decided to sell them though.

Bill Bowerman was the track coach you're mentioning above. Knight ran under him while he attended the UofO. Bowerman tested the Asics of Knight and ended up making a better shoe with a waffle iron.

Knight pours money into the university annually. The program wouldn't be anything close to what it is now without him doing so. I've been living in Eugene for about a year, and have to say one of the best college towns in the country.

Nike makes a lot of Oregon exclusive items. This particular pair was limited, I think 300 total. I looked at a pair at auction signed by Knight. Went for $4500....granted you could write it off of taxes as a donation.

Man I would have tried to bid on them. Little off topic, but I recently bid on the white Grimm 10s and lost.

How would the tax writeoff work? Could you get writeoffs on Doernbecher auctions? Do you have to be an Oregon resident?

Grimm is shot in Portland I believe and the 10s were super limited, like 4 pairs of each. These rightfully go in collector's cases. This is the cool thing about Nike in the community.

All depends on the auctions and how they're set up. But would assume yes if you're paying the charity itself. I'm not one to give tax advise, but regardless of where you're a resident you'd have to talk to a tax accountant to see how it impacts personal taxes.

Haven't seen any of those famous collectors have THESE now lol. There's 2-3 pairs on sale on eBay...one of them is OregonAuthentic, which is a known seller here. So I guess if you have that kind of money, you could maybe have em. Or if you know one of the players/staff that have your size and they'd be willing to sell it to you specifically.
