When I'm buying groceries at Safeway or food at a restaurant or fast food, I immediately throw it away right after.
When I'm buying shoes, electronics, or home stuff, I keep it for about a month then throw away. I just don't like the clutter it creates. What about you?

Im kinda at the point now where if i buy something i know im gonna use it/keep it/wear it.

Only time i return stuff is xmas

It's not just about if you're returning or not....what if there's some funny business with charges, and your receipts in the trash? :rolleyes You never know.

If there's a chance I'll return item, I'll keep it until return period is over. Other than that, I keep a spreadsheet of all my expenses and put them into categories to see where my money's going to so I'll either record the exact amount and item on phone or keep the receipt until i get home and then trash it after I record it.

I do most of my big ticket item shopping online so all the receipts are in my e-mail accnts.

Everything else gets thrown away. I hate having receipts in my car or pocket. **** is so annoying. Ouchea pulling **** out my pockets lookin' like Baggin Saggin Barry.

Yee.

Helps me keep track of expenses.

Also leaves a paper trail of where i been.

I throw em out after like a week.

I used to budget hardcore and then I kind of got complacent with it. I've got to get back on track in 2016.

Mint can automatically track your spending.

I only keep the receipts for big ticket items, I do mostly online shopping though.

I used to not keep track of spending and played myself with overdrafts, so ever since then I feel compelled to keep all receipts. I know I don't have to since it's all online now, but it makes me feel better.

No problem the online website is what I try to check weekly to make sure the transactions are categorized correctly and to easily see my spending and income.

Mint is owned by Intuit, who also owns TurboTax it is very safe.
