It’s the epitome of insignificance. It’s pisses some people off and is cringy but it doesn’t matter it’s just a funny discussion. Put a choke hold on it and call it blue dog **** idc just don’t let me catch you using that banana mold again

Young? I’ve heard the term breds since the 01s at the least.

Yeah. I could be incorrect but my recollection of it, at least on NT, is that people started using "bred" not because they thought it was a good or cool nickname but because someone realized it worked as shorthand for the colorway and lots of people started following suit because it was quicker to type when describing which colorway you were talking about. It wasn't about intentionally coming up with nicknames for every colorway of every Jordan.

It was us truly being lazy and not saying black and red. Cherries, blueberries and such just sound very silly but you know you’re old when you complain about the generation that comes after you lol

That's definitely how I remember it. I feel like I can almost remember the first time, or one of the first times, it was ever used on here and people kind of laughing at it like "huh?" but no one was like up in arms about it. That specific term was for a long time just shorthand for that specific colorway, and I could also be wrong about this but I remember it being in reference to the XIs. Could've been the 1s, though.
Anyway, I don't care if people want to use the nicknames, I just think it's gone way too far and is well past corny
That said ... I have to admit, the nicknames do make it easier to quickly know what someone is talking about. This didn't used to be an issue 20 years ago, before JB/Nike cranked out dozens of colorways on retros. If someone said to me right now, I really like the blue 12s, then I have to respond, which "blue" 12s? LOL
