The Oakland Raiders 2016 Offseason Thread | Welcome, Karl & Jihad & Shilique & DeAndre

Joseph coming off a torn ACL which will hurt his stock a bit...not sure if he'll be there at 14 in the second round though

I wouldn't mind taking Joseph in the first round. I think he'll be gone by the late first early second round.

I think he will be available @14in the 2nd round. He's projected to go late 2nd/3rd round.

Report: Aldon Smith to get 250K each game on 53-man roster

The Raiders and linebacker Aldon Smith agreed to a two-year deal on Monday, ending uncertainty about where he’d play next.

It did nothing to end the uncertainty about when he’ll play next, though. Smith is suspended through the middle of November and there are no guarantees that he’ll be reinstated at that time. As you’d expect under those circumstances, the compensation in the deal is tied to Smith actually being available to earn it.

Field Yates of ESPN reports that Smith’s deal calls for him to make $250,000 for each regular season game he’s on the 53-man roster. In 2016, Smith is going to be limited to six or seven games, depending on when Oakland’s bye falls, if he’s reinstated and deemed ready to play immediately.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the deal has a base value of $11 million over the two years with incentives that could push it closer to $20 million, although the full details of the contract aren’t available yet and the suspension will eat up much of the money from the first season.

If we didn't have someone mobile like Latavius already on the roster, I'd love to get Paul Perkins in the third round or so.

Yeah, you already know what it is.

Yea, probably wanted that Weddle money...maybe let him walk to see what else he can get. Hard to drop that kinda money this late in free agency with the draft just around the corner

I know a bunch of Draft Prospects will be visiting teams, today William Jackson III will be in Alameda.

How you guys feel about him? Numbers look good...ain't really seen him play though.

Crazy to think, we got a 32/33 year old safety and we got younger at the position

Safeties age well generally, so long as they can keep their quickness/instincts for knowing where to be.
