How do you spend $45 at dominoes?
Easy when you're high.

On tipping, I don't look at it as an obligation or some oppressive standard the way some of you do. To me, it's a opportunity for me to show my appreciation to the person who took the time and effort to bring my food to my doorstep. Whether they're getting paid for it already or not doesn't matter to me, I'm just trying to pay it forward.

Maybe that makes me an oblivious cog in this giant con machine that is tipping, as some of you guys make it sound.

you haven't considered the aspect that he literally wasted money by wasting gas by coming to your doorstep?

sounds oblivious to me.
Not quite sure what you mean here. You seem to be missing my point. I'm not taking about the money spent to get the food to me. That's not to say I don't recognize that, though.

Seems you somehow took it that I don't tip. I always tip. Not sure where I gave you that idea.

But that's not my point. The main point is it doesn't matter to me if I'm compensating them for anything in particular or not. I do it out of the kindness of my heart from person to person as a sign of appreciation. Which is why I tend to overtip at times. Some people who don't tip seem to look at it as this oppressive requirement that you're forced into. I look at tipping as an opportunity to pay directly to the person who did the footwork for me. Which I do, every time. Y'all non-tipper witch hunting, but I'm not your guy.

I was a waiter for a couple of years on South Street Seaport when I was younger, though. Maybe I empathize more. So I always tip and always appreciate all the work it takes in those jobs that rely on tips.

Negative.

You're just one of the many that try to ridicule and marginalize the use of logic needed to have a discussion every time this topic comes up.

For the most part I could care less if someone tips or doesn't.

why y'all tippin bartenders then? Because they poured your beer for 10 seconds? Pizza delivery drivers do way more. They put miles on their car, and use their own gas. Sometimes it's raining. Sometimes it's hard to find your house number at night.

I'd rather waste my money on the lotto. At least then there's a chance of it doing something for me other than not getting my food spit in by salty brokeboys

Because I dont want the bartender to water down my drink, give me the bottom shelf version of what I ordered(i.e.: I order Grey Goose, and the bartender pours up Taaka :x) also, if I order something on the rocks, the bartender will give me a double for the price of a single.

Also, its just what players do, ya feel me?

Wut?

You may have me confused with someone else. I couldn't care less about whether or not NTers tip. I don't have he time or energy to waste 'ridiculing and marginalizing the use of logic needed to have a discussion every time this topic comes up.'

I'm not even sure we disagree with each other. All I'm saying is I make an effort to tip every time because I appreciate the effort. I don't worry about if the restaurant is getting over by paying them less, or that they already getting paid for it. That's my stance and opinion. Just seems that most of the people who complain about the expectation of tipping see it as just that; an expectation. I don't feel required to tip. I do it because I choose to. If the service was so bad that it wouldn't warrant a tip by my standards, I wouldn't tip.

Who spit in your sandwich his morning, bro?

This makes no sense tho

You shouldn't have to tip to make sure the bartender gives you what you payed for.

I tip delivery drivers...

I ******* hate it...

It appalling to me that Papa John puts on big bold text "Our delivery fee is nor a tip. Our delivery drivers deserve a tip. Please tip them" . **** that... You're a giant corporation, pay your employees a fair wage and don't pass it off on the customer while telling them that their workers deserve more :smh:... Disgusting to me...

That extra delivery fee from papa john's is bs. Like wth is that even for? That's why I usually just try to buy from the local pizza places who don't charge for that bs. Only order from papa john's when I don't have cash or can't pick up my order from my usual spots.

I only order when nothing else is open... I wanted pizza last week at midnight and had a 50% coupon ... I normally only do local joints...

if you getting drinks at a bar you already getting robbed

This

Thisssss

And this again.

Dudes gonna fire back about being broke boys but honestly I'd rather pre-game and buy a drink or two to keep me lit through the night. F all that $9 shot + tip noise. Just give the bartender your wallet at that point, b. Pull out da savings and put it on the counter cause they robbin you.

 at another tipping thread.

But honestly, because I tip based on service, if my delivery food is hella late and I got no compensation, consider my tip gone. Don't like my way of thinking? Get a better job that isn't meant to cater to 16 year olds with new licenses who live at home w/ their parents.

So you buying drinks at the bar?

Right.

Youre far too clever to be overcharged for a drink.

 never said I was clever, just said I refuse to pay for mixed drinks / shots at a bar because it's so insanely overpriced. Even the beer, but you can't bring drinks in so if you wanna stay buzzed you gotta get something in most situations.
