You're right, but I don't think Cena can really be on the same list as great wrestlers. His in-ring and promo skills don't qualify him to be on that list.

His list is a list of wrestlers, not sports entertainers..So are we all discussing wrestlers or sports entertainers/draws?..Cause if we're talking pure wrestling Cena ain't sniffing a list of top 20..

Bret was a bigger draw than HBK..Bret is severely undervalued for his international appeal and drawing power..But to be honest, neither Bret nor Shawn were guys who drew huge money..Which is funny to me considering they were 2 of the best all time..

EVERYONE knows who The Rock, Stones, Andre, and Hulk were. They transcended the sport.
HBK and Bret didn't do that by any stretch.
Post Career doesn't count because if someone new watched that HBK Hunting show, they don't know him as a WRESTLER, they know him as a show host.

Agreed. Shawn had the machine behind him and still wasn't a big draw. Bret never really had that backing they were just looking for three next big thing. Literally the next big thing like a Nash, Luger etc...

LOL They didn't even have real appeal to fans IN the business. Shows weren't selling out when those two were on top. Some of the WWF's lowest periods happened in the Mid 90s during the HBK/Bret/Diesel runs

Not saying they were super duper mega draws ala rock scsa. People outside of wrestling knew these dudes trust me. Everybody i knew wanted to be hbk or bret. Maybe its a small sample but i grew up in three different states as a child and it was the same. Im talking casual to not even watching wrestling fans.
Yall forget hbk had lady's panties wet.(im hate hbk too so no biased from me)

Hogan and Rock get put on a whole other level considering how much they "transcended sport" I don't think anyone can really touch them as far as recognizable icon types
