Official 2016 Boxing Thread: 11/5/2016 - Vargas/Pacquiao Top Rank PPV.

Im not the type to judge a fighter outside the ring but this boy AB is a piece of ****, end of story. He thinks he's some big superstar but in reality he aint ****. Paper champ who gets whooped everytime he fights a legitimate fighter.

Floyd threw big shots at AB and didn't hold back any punches. Dude is never gonna grow up man.

It's like dude will never realize how good he could've been and probably could still be if he just **** and fight. From a business standpoint, his 0 is already gone so people aren't tuning in just to see him lose.

All money ain't good money...especially when a guy starts making million dollar pay days at 22. That life caught up to him, boy...

If this happened in January, they picked the perfect time to come out. Right when he's in the middle of this "feud" with Mayweather and his next fight.

I don't know if AB would've ever been THAT good tho. He was able to stand right in front of the little guys at 130 and 135 and bully them which is why he looked so amazing, but once he stepped up to 147 all that **** stopped. Even DSG Matthyse or Crawford at 140 would've wrecked him IMO. He's good but far from great.

Any US networks showing tomorrow's UK card (Kell Brook), or is streaming the only option? If streaming, any idea when it should be live on the east coast?

It's hard to say. He is very gifted, but obviously not in the same class as Mayweather or Roy Jones, who should be considered superhuman. We've seen others accomplish much more with less natural ability than AB. Like Froch and Bradley made it so far off sheer will and determination. Well, they both have great chins, so that helped. AB also has a great chin and quick hands. Sure Maidana knocked him down a couple times, but he wasn't even protecting himself. Anyone else would've went down and stayed down from those shots. I believe AB is more gifted than DSG, Matthysse, and Crawford. Unfortunately, I doubt he can beat any of them right now.

Assault and Battery has talent but I haven't seen him improve since 130. His defense is incredibly suspect because he spends too much time in the Philly Shell thinking he's Floyd but he doesn't realize that Floyd relies on lateral movement. Attempted Burglary is too flat footed and he doesn't throw enough punches for my tastes.

Agreed on all of this. The Porter fight was absurd because dude did nothing for 11 rounds then rocked Porter with one punch in the 12th.

And that's also a fighter that he's probably more gifted than.

AB isn't that physically gifted, he just isn't who people thought he was. He has fast hands and a really good chin but brings nothing else to the table at a high level. Doesn't have good or elite power. No ring IQ. Doesn't punch with any sort of volume. Defense is awful. Doesn't move his feet.

He's a decent fighter and can dominate the right matchup but he's more at gate keeper level. Anyone world class is beating him bad at 140 and up.

You could argue the fast hands and good chin are the physical gifts. A lot of the other things you mentioned are learned.

Agree with this all. He had the chance to really get his defense and have his mind right but he refused to get better and work on his craft and weaknesses.

Damn UK fans sure do support their fighters, sheffield looks lit.

Man why did Bizier even show up, dudes body language says he already defeated. IBF rankings :smh:

Damn, Kell Brook is too good, no wonder Floyd and Manny retiring because both men want to duck Brook.

Brook is the best boxer of this generation, Tyson Fury better watch out, he better not duck Brook!

THIS LOOOOOOONG LIVE SPECIAL K.

Barrera is too slow and lacking in skills. But I have doubts that Ward can do his holding and clinching against Barrera. Barrera is not just a physically bigger, stronger guy than Ward is used to but he is also good at those tactics. I also question how Andre Ward's legs are after the lay off and injuries.

This fight is going to be great. Barerra is an excellent fighter and I want to see how Ward looks after his extended layoffs. I expect Ward to switch between the orthodox and southpaw stance but I also expect Barerra's Cuban bozing pedigree to shine tonight. This fight will be LIT.
