What if you met your 5 year old self?

How would I know that is ME at the age 5?

Create the scenario for me

It's more like a spirit. Think of the movie Field of Dreams where ghosts of baseball's past come out of the corn field to give dude spiritual guidance.

Now think of yourself sitting in a room in deep thought questioning your life's meaning..... and your 5 year old self walks in and sit downs and stares at you. How would you feel? What would you say?

I'd tell my 5-year old self to never give up no matter how high the odds are stacked against you. It doesn't matter where you come from, the only thing that matters is where you're going. Also, I'd tell him to spend more time with your family and loved ones. And stay away from the other kids on the block.

Keep all your sneakers and keep them as clean as possible.
Being smart is cool. Keep it up.
Peer pressure will make you become something you are far from.
Don't fit in, stand out.
No woman will love you like your mother.
Stay a virgin through high school.
You are not a product of your environment.
Procrastination will ruin your life.
Chase the money, not the women.

I would tell myself to keep that competetive edge that made you wanna draw better than Shakka (I still remember dudes name... ain't that something?) One day you'll be amazing if you don't let obstacles stand in your way.

Don't trip on sports. You're naturally athletic, but trying to follow in your father's footsteps is a waste of time and you'll be disappointed in the end.

Let your biological mother go. She's a coke head and a thot and waiting on her to get her **** together is gonna make you cry a lot over the years.

Move to San Diego as soon as you can. Ain't **** for you back home.

Skip that player stage. Wasted years.

I always wish this...I'll bump it up to 8-9 tho.
-when the time comes, stick to baseball, the whole hood hoopin.

-don't be scared to rap those rhymes you wrote thinking u Kane

LOL
But seriously, I would tell myself stay focused, nevermind detractors/distractions and most importantly BE CONFIDENT!!!

This thread is funny because I used to wonder what I would look like as an adult, and wonder about time travel wishing I could see if I became successful in the future or a bum, lol.

I also used to wonder if this life/world was real or if we were a subplot in another world being watched and observed by other beings. I was an only child so my imagination was vivid.

haha man this would be funny... prob smile shed a tear... and tell him to start working hard now so you can become a pro athlete...

"Stop being a ***** and play the damn piano. Trust me, you'll wish you never asked to quit. Also watch Hackers. It will change your life."

Come to think of it, Hackers was a really eye opening because I realized there were other people out there. Recently rewatched it with our local defcon group and wow, that movie was so poorly executed

Let him know that the dreams and aspirations that you have won't ever come true and you will grow up to be a loser.

I think it was supposed to be loosely based on 1984.

Cereal's governments name was Emmanuel Goldstein and he made refernce to the book when they were in the cafe.

Life be weird man! The thing is we learn from it, but I know we all have those moments where we could go back and do things differently, like spend more time with family...because to be honest I should call my American grandma more, and I don't even speak to my Japanese grandma because of the language barrier...this year I'm planning on seeing them both though, so If there's a future thread of what would you tell your 21 yr old self then I wouldn't feel bad lol...

But stay strong bro, it's a part of life. I know we all get caught up in our life and may put our relatives off to the side...**** that's been me, so I know I need to do more with them now!

Pull a Biff Tannen and hand him the sports bureau book from this year with about $10000 in a sealed envelope with specific instructions on what to do with the money and how to parlay the bets.

Knowing me though, I'd prolly disregard and spend that on games, shoes, and candy

Break out the Legos. We'd build the millennium falcon in record time.

Then I'd tell myself to actually try in high school so We could be in some university yambs. And try out for every sport. Don't let that athleticism go to waste.

I don't think any of our 5 year old selfs would believe it. I would just think some crazy dude is talking to me lol.

Exactly. What do anyof YOU dudes remember at age 5? I mean hell, people gave yall advice as teenagers and it didn't click, so why would it click when you are 5?

nah, I have savant like memory. I remember everything. Like, everything. I remember tons from elementary school. Kindergarten. Preschool..

I have ultra advanced levels of facial and voice recognition. I'd recognize myself no doubt.

With that said..I would just watch myself. But no talking. The whole theory of time travel, I buy into the concept of not influencing the past in any way. So I wouldn't say or do anything to my former for fear of altering some of the dope stuff that has happened in my life. I would just watch myself, and probably get a laugh or two. I was hilarious and so much fun. Clearly.

I wouldn't tell cuh ****. Cause if he changed up, the entire future might change and I might not exist any more.
I would be replaced by the person he would become. Not the person I became. I'm happy enough with my life
anyways lol

Right.

Matter of fact, as soon as you went to tell yourself something, you'd disappear because you went back to tell yourself whatever. If you know whatever you needed to go back to tell yourself ahead of time, there would be no need for you to go back in time.

You wouldnt disappear .. if it were significant enough then when you came back to present time things would just be different

I'd tell my 5 y/o self to keep doing what you doing and you will turn out fine

But lets say you go back to tell yourself to stay home on a specific night because you get in a car accident. You go back and tell yourself, therefore you dont get into said accident. Why would you time travel, then?

You went back to stop a chain of events, the events never happen, so you never time travel.

the key is to go back for another reason, and then let that be an 'oh yea' moment.

I'd hit myself with a Stone Cold Stunner. I was really into wrestling back then and I think a five year old version of myself would appreciate it even though Stone Cold wasn't out yet.
