RZA Claims 'All Lives Matter' And Says More Black Men Should 'Clean Up'

This whole concept of dress right to survive is so tired and flawed

There's been so many times I've worn business casual clothes and if I'm walkin' behind a woman and he happen to be going to the same area I will take the long way around just to make sure she don't think I'm tryna corner her in broad daylight.

Let's go head and make sure everybody else fels safe. Lemme go 'head get me a new "safe" wardrobe and hopefully these buttons will make this 6'3" 250lbs frame seem less threathening

I you want massa to stop whipping you, maybe you shouldn't sass the slavers so much

If you wanna keep the low paying factory job, maybe you shouldn't go to the MLK rally

If you don't wanna be lynched, maybe you should look at yourself in the mirror more, instead of at white women when the walk by

#RzaLogic

Right? ODB is probably rollin in his grave right now.

People really go off the deep end to appear enlightened sometimes. Nobody is telling black men to trade in their "hippity-hop hoodies" for "JCPenny's Top-of-the-line designer Mens Wear" to appease the "white man". It's more of a "there's a time and place" for certain things. Life is hard, whether you decide to wear your Dickies above or below your buttcrack. Agree or not, how will anything change if we label somebody a "sellout" for changing his/her perspective on certain aspects of black culture decades later?

That ***** is a sellout. Was he rapping about wearing a suit on his last album? Does Wu Tang put out ties and hard bottoms when they collab with clothing brands?

What perspective changed? He still sees his audience as a bunch of marks. He's the dope dealer slanging pills and then telling his customers they need to get clean.

If his perspective changed it must have been a couple of weeks ago and actions speak louder than words. Let's assume he changed... Ok my dude lead by example. Put that message in your music. Sell the type of gear you think dudes need to wear to appear less like targets for these killer cops. THEN get on your Bill Cosby preachy bs. Even then, I don't wanna hear it, but at least stop profitting off the **** you're downing.

Forgive a rapper for not living the life he raps about. Because we all know everything any musician produces is what they did the day before and it's the absolute truth. Nobody preaching about anything. If that's how he feels, so be it.

So what's the appropriate time and place for me to wear my hoodie? When, outside of extremes (ie banks, airports, schools, places of high security), is it "the wrong time" to wear a hoodie bro? Don't get me wrong I can dig the look upkept and clean or don't look disorderly but it does not matter how somebody dresses when it comes to how you treat them.

I don't wanna hear nobody, white black purple translucent ball of energy mutuant humaniod, nobody tell me I gotta wear certain clothes to not be stopped in the streets when folks out there parading with confederate flags in the middle of areas with high black traffic with the intention to start some mess and police protect them in they tank tops and shorts

What should Trayvon have been wearing when he decided to walk out of his house and buy snacks?

Well Rza would probably say:

If Trayvon was wearing a three piece suit he still would a alive

And if Tamir Rice was in a tuxe, that scumbag cop would have pause for a second and wondered "What is that dapper young man doing with a firearm....oh it must be a toy....let me not gun him down in cold blood then"

A suit....did you not hear the Rza?

I don't think Rza is really that wrong with that comment. Look at ya'll getting so hot and bothered by someone offering their opinion on how to help you not get shot these days...man what a terrible guy....

At the end of the day Rza got out the hood and doing good for himself....and here ya'll are saying **** Rza...I ain't changing my ways...the PIGS gotta change their ways....

Maybe both sides need to change their ways.....

The blame shouldn't be placed on the victims of oppression

It belongs to the oppressors

Rza specifically said dude that are getting brutalized by the police need to look in the mirror.

To tell a criminal (of any kind) to change their and stop breaking the law is on thing, but to tell dudes to their clothes is the reason they are being terrorized is another

BTW, the NYPD was stopping and frisking black dudes regardless of their clothes. I got stop and frisk in Flatbush while my cousins while wearing a suit (I had just came from an interview with Kickstarter)

The reason given for them for stopping me was "I look outta place"

Plus black males get harassed by cops in burbs, and god forbid they see you waling through a wealthy neighborhood. Being clean cut doesn't stop them then

MLK took a bullet to the head while rocking a suit and preaching peace while getting sprayed with hoses and attacked by dogs.

Ain't no dress code for discrimination.

Who does RZA speak for that puts people so up in arms about how black males are profiled on a daily basis? RZA. There were no names attached to his statements, yet, quite a few people seemed to be offended by it, as if this has some affect on their way of life. Personal experiences will always shape an individual's ideals. His opinion isn't as literal as a "hoody". It's getting to a point where black people can't even make critical assessments of each other amongst all the racial division (as if it just started with Trayvon) without being considered "less than black" or the blame game ensuing. Who knows? Somebody might take a piece of what he said as a positive affirmation and become better as a result of it, while another might create a popular meme and believe he's an "intellectual" for about a week, which is how long this thread will last.

Famb he literally says that "brothers being brutalized....us....need to take a look in the mirror"

LINK to VIDEO

He is placing some of the blame for police brutality against blacks on the victims.

There is no excuse for police brutality, and not wanting to be brutalized by the police should not be a motivator for folk to "cleaning up there act"

And like I said, clean cut, law abiding well to do brothers still get harassed, terrorized, and brutalized.

It is not only about "personal experiences". There is plenty of hard data showing blacks are targeted.

What does that clown have to say about a guy like James Blake? James is as far from a street cat as you can get and it didn't matter what he was wearing. James is Harvard educated, a former American professional tennis player with millions and he had a collared Polo and some pants. NYPD still treated dude like any other minority.

I hate walking behind people especially women. I noticed their body language goes from relaxed to tense when they realize I'm trailing them and purse gets moved from side to front. In my head I'm simply like lady ******* moooooooove :smh: :smh: :smh:

That illusion of inclusion got dudes all fkd up in the head

I agree Truth Serum. From RZA to Pharrell and the new black movement, these guys try to speak intelligently on real issues without doing their due diligence.
