why is it sometimes that women who are half black try to deny they don't have any African blood?

For example amber rose I've read is not black she is fully Caucasian including her mom.. read online that her family said they didnt want amber dating wiz Khalifa because he is black, but if amber was half black how does this making any sense? Her skin complexion must not be real either she goes to s tanning salon, since she is classified as white on thr internet. Amber doesnt look orange but her tan is quite nice if it is fake..or again its her black blood that her fam won't accept. Im not lying where i read this. It says she's cape Verde I see its a country in Africa, irish, Italian so that covers her heritage-i dunno her body physique doesn't look like your typical white girls figure...not saying white girls don't have curves...but her thighs and *** just look too nicely shaped for her to just be 100%. Just saying I think it could be the black dna. Anyway raven simone said on one interview that she's not African American I'm just mixed or something? Well I was sure taken back because she looks all like a sista to me. I'm sure that their are others out their that deny their black ancestry that they have in them but it's so embarrassing for blacks to see other blacks to not accept who they are. Beyonce dyed her hair blonde..used too anyways.

I never encounter these light skin women.

Usually it's the other way around, they usually going extra hard on black pride like the character of ol girl on Dear White People  They be the ones researching their roots and be having old slave gyms memorized and are really conflicted with the white side of their family.

Only others I know are the ones that use to be a bit confused about it not fully feeling by black ppl or white ppl. Never met ones straight rejecting their heritage.

As for what you're talking about you're Amber Rose example is not making sense to me. You say she isn't black but then say her parents didn't want her dating Wiz cuz he's black and then say if she was half black how does it make sense. I'm lost.

As for Raven, I too, have a problem with the label of African American. I don't go by it. She knows she's black though. Can't front on that. This aint like that Taye Diggs and his son situation. Raven does say dumb sounding **** and can't always properly explain herself though.

You probably shouldn't put much stock in to what these famous or semi-famous light skin chicks say when it comes on to big topics like race and representing themselves.

Well I'm asking you about amber rose is she fully Caucasian or is she half black and white. Cape Verdean people who are they?

Lol Dark skin women deny their African blood. It's all brainwashing, ask Willie Lynch

Oh. I honestly assumed Amber was half black or something.

Cape Verde is a mix of white and black origins. Among other things but her moms is only half that and it may not even be black after looking it up. So she might be like a quarter black with some black/mulatto ancestors.

I can still see her parents being a bit racist though raising their child in Philly in the 90s who became a stripper anyway.

I've never seen that. They usually try to embrace all cultures/ethnicities if they grew up in it, or at least acknowledge them from my experience.

Raven wasn't denying she was Black though. She was saying she doesn't like sub-labeling. She's purely "American" like anyone else born in the US. Its a nationality, not a race and she views it as the former.

I've read people refer to Drake as African-American. The guy born and raised in Canada is African-American?

I've brought it up before, but people used to get on Rita Ora because she said she wasn't Black, she was Albanian. People where saying she was denying her African roots somewhere. Then they saw photos of her family and realized she wasn't denying anything.

Why is it always the dark skin dominican who deny their african roots?

Just google the history of Cape Verde bro. African island colonized by the Portuguese, most are a lighter brown shade than most Africans but still black by most people's scales. The ones that lean closer to the Portuguese heritage on the island are fairer skinned. So if her mom is only half Cape Verdean and half white it's easy to see why Amber would be so light skinned but also have a nice tan.

I'm Cape Verdean

I never seen or heard Amber deny this part of herself. CV has beautiful women btw

Why does it matter? If they don't want to be black, then we don't want them either

Cuz race is important, self hatred is a serious issue, and how these ppl end up with that sort of view should be focused on.

I respectfully disagree, we know how they end up with those views. Black hasn't been a desirable trait since the colonial days. My thing is I'm not bothered about how they feel, if they don't want to be black then let them claim whatever they want. It's their loss, not ours.

If a person doesn't want to be called black then so be it. When we rise up and get ours stay over there tho.

That's how I feel. Idgaf if a person is Latino, African American whatever if you aren't with us then stay over there because our time is coming.

Just cuz it hasn't been desirable a long time ago doesn't mean the reasons for it today are the same.

I completely disagree with dismissing these ppl outright and ignoring them. That can lead to a slippery slope. This is a serious problem and it should be addressed. Not really about who is losing to me.

I have never once encountered any black women or man for that matter that ever did this unless they are Dominican

Dark Skin arabs out here in the Middle East call themselves black I never once seem them deny such a thing.

Surprised this thread ain't blow up yet
It only takes one lurker or one alt account t come through and say something flagrant and pretend they're serious or express their hateful views thinking it's cool cuz of the acct. they're using to kick things off.
