Official Billions Thread: Season 7 (Final Season), Episode 9 (10/6/23) - Game Theory Optimal

I'm really feeling this show. I'm re-watching ep 3now. Axe's wife is fast becoming my favorite tv wife. She went to work quick.

Team Axe "I choose rich every time"

 word.

She handles business just like her husband. Ruthlessly.

The way she handled that book situation ensuring Axe didn't even have to worry about it, was really dope.

I really hope his wife doesn't go the way of other TV wives (who directly lead to their husbands' downfall). It'll be a nice refreshing change of pace if she's ride or die until the end.

I can only see her going rogue if he nails the chick during the Metallica trip. Even then, she looks like the type that knows her place. I hope she doesn't disappoint.

Agreed.

Ray Donovan is also on Showtime and Ray's wife is

Only caught the second ep now...

A cool ep. I like the fact that their opening up on Axe's wife too. I think she's going to be a crucial character as the season goes on. Building it up so that both of the wives are knee deep in it.

It's kinda

how Axe is still holding grudges from years ago, and I like the way it builds up his character of consistently wanting to win at all costs, and get revenge on anyone who was in his way of his path to success.

It says quite a bit about his character...
I think a lot of wealthy individuals in real life are like Axe in terms of the vengeance. Can't wait for Episode 3
Definitely, I'm not in finance at all, but a bunch of my boys are, and a lot of them came from nothing. A big part of their grind is just proving all those people wrong; all the broads that laughed at them, all the dudes that teased them, all the people who never believed in them.
Finance - Where nerds get their revenge on Society.

I've heard nothing but good things about this show, people at work talk about it all the time. Starting it today.

You guys like Axe's wife like that? Half of her dialogue is so cringe to me. She was better in the 3rd episode though.

they tryin too hard to make her relevant

like she supposed to be another claire to brody's frank

Skylar :smh:
We'll see with the next hurdle.

Cuz I can see Axe smashing some other chick and then his wife goes in to crazy mode and it's over. Lets see if she got some Claire Underwood in her and don't mind. I'm pretty sure at some point Axe is gonna smash Rhoades wife.

She was nothing the first 2 eps. Barely noteworthy.

She shined in the 3rd ep.

Nah Claire was never down. She there for her own benefit.

They knowingly cheat on each other and do each other

dirt ball.  This does not seem like the case for Axe and his wife.

i think early in the show she was down, but this past season flipped the script on all that

 The Underwoods don't cheat on each other.

They have an open relationship and a strong bond (before the recent season). They tell each other everything. S1 was nothing but them being aware who they were smashing and that ended up leading to them smashing their security detail together.

Obviously Claire had things to gain from the relationship but lets not pretend Frank wasn't benefitting from being with Claire as well. To say she was never down is crazy.

Way to early to call it with Axe and his wife. From the previews of tomorrow's ep it looks like he'll be doing some dirt himself but that could be red herring.

This ep answered a few of my questions about Axe.

They kinda went right back in to this impending war with Axe and Rhoades though. Would've liked to see some more with Rhoades wife.

This story was good though. Scumbag friend, spending that wealth to go see some rock group, still being bothered by work, feeling the walls closing in on you, etc.

I do wonder if Axe has felt like it's been enough or he's just making the smart play. I mean he could still beat Rhoades. They currently still have nothing.

I like that he didn't hold that plane a second time for his buddy. I feel he would have done it whether or not the dude stole his idea on the truck stock.

Rhodes pops is too thirsty. He just lost half a mill trying to stick it to Axe while also putting his son in a precarious position. Meanwhile Axe always wins.

I respect how he handled the singer. You know he wanted to smash, but he thought of those consequences and weighed it out. P is never worth the consequences.

The mole in the office was wild reckless. Who in the hell closes the stall door and doesn't lock it?

Axe ain't going anywhere. There's no way in episode 4 of season 1, is the main character just about to throw in the towel on what he and his arch rival are at war over. I definitely see him making a smooth powerplay.

Besides, it's not in Axe's nature. Axe's character wants to win every single time. He needs to consistently keep winning, and quitting is not a part of his nature.

One thing that gets to me about this show, is how many times Axe is discussing inside information/things that shouldn't be discussed on the phone, on his main phone line. They don't even attempt to show him using a trap phone :smh:

I could see immediately he was going to leave his boy when he made that statement about leaving something when he sees it's going down. Just walking away. I knew right then and there he would help his friend, and figured he'd probably never speak to him again...

I think it'd be exciting if the writers did do that though. S1 ep 4, Axe is out the game, got fans scrambling wondering what the show is about now?

I figure even if they did do that they'd write something that would pull him back in to it in a big way. I can see Rhoades thinking of several ways to goad him back so he can try to trap him.

I knew when he walked away from his right hand man he was doing it just to make even him think he might be really out so everybody would be in doubt.

As far as his nature, yes that's true but even dudes like him can grow and evolve. They framed it right with the theme they established when he had the convo with one of his traders and how dude felt he was above certain things and was looking down on some ppl in that story he was telling. Then at the end of the ep Axe comes back is looking through the glass at that dude and others working for him, thinking of what that dude said and wondering why he's even putting himself in this position when he is actually way above them all.

 Yeah Axe be reckless on his main phone. He only had a burner for his spy guy. I guess he knows Rhoades or the SEC or any other lawyer will never have legal reason to tap his phone and that anybody he's calling would never have the balls to record his convo. Of course he does leave himself open to still being recorded if somebody else he calls is having their phones tapped. Plus there's always dark net blackmailer types.

no way Axe is out, no way. probably switch up and trade/invest overseas, since the mole is done.
