Adidas NMD thread

The drops for both were comparable, if anything the Grey CS were harder to cop day of release than today's drop. The bigger factor was the Grey CS restocking everywhere so frequently that it was practically impossible to miss it.

The restocks and consortium drops are the unpredictable part of the quantities on these. Some shoes like the Grey CS restock a ton and others like the Pharrells were gone and barely had a single restock. Makes the decision whether to buy resale super hard.
Of course it was harder to cop the Grey CS because it was still when Adidas had their old ****** website. I was able to get them but it took a good 30 mins of waiting. Today I got both within 5 mins

Oh and there were always more Grey CS. My friend who has access to the players only/B2B site said there were over 250 pairs loaded on the site, which is way more than normal. He said there were only 40 pairs of the Wool CS loaded

You had it easier than most today tough, A LOT of people had a hard time with this drop. I definitely wouldn't say this new "system" is an improvement.

Yeah I got lucky, but if you look at right when they dropped, there were lots of people who got through easy and quick. Honestly you have to just hit refresh at the right time. The main difference is the checkout timer. If you get them in your cart theres no more never ending checkout loop, which was the worst part about how it used to be.

I suggest you go get a new Router for the next yeezy drop

Me switching mine was was night n day on this last drop compared to previous..

You do so much web surfing n whatnot a fresh new IP is a good idea

The timer didn't eliminate the checkout loop issue though. I carted multiple times and tried different payment methods but nothing would go through. Several others in this thread had the same issue this morning.

I saw people say they had security issues, which is on their credit card company, not adidas.

But I'm sure it didnt fix 100% of the issues but there's no doubt this is an improvement on the old system

This is going to be one of the most painful waits for me in recent memory... First pair agony... and ADC can be a bit slow at times... Sigh....

People were still getting checkout loops today. I also had a pair in cart right off the bat, like the instant they went live, and it got cleared, so the cart holding didn't really work across the board. I carted a few times before ever getting a hold. Checkout timer didn't make much of a difference and in fact, I bet a lot of bots ate up all the pairs that were randomly getting released from carts that expired.

My point is it's not an improvement at all man, you just got lucky today.

I didn't know ADC went live at 10 EST and I just happened to be on this site. Saw one of those "checked out with ease" post at about 10:04 and figured it out. By that time it said sold out. Refreshed a few time and saw sizes popping back up. The new system is nice but now you have to refresh ALL the time. Random sizes pop up, usually not your size, so you have to decide if you want to buy to trade, sell or what not. Luckily my size popped up at about 10:15 and that seemed to be the ONLY size that I was ever able to cart today. I will say once I carted, check out was a breeze through PayPal.

Just unboxed the Pharrell Hu NMD Human Races:

Thoughts:

-QUALITY: They are really well made. The leather back, the design on the sole, the neoprene inner and outer double layer, the embroidery on the words (which I did a close up pic of below)...they obviously spent a lot of time on the details with this shoe and it shows. You feel your money is well spent on this one.  I've had the shoe for a few hours now and I'm still finding new little details.

-FEEL: First reaction once I put them on it that they are WARM. These are not shoes to rock at the beach. Because they have a double layer, these don't breathe much. Good shoe for the Fall, on chilly days, or with thin/no socks.  If you see someone wearing a pair of these in a super sunny location or with heavy socks, you can think to yourself, "That guy's feet are sweating like hell in those".

-LACES: The laces took some getting used to. I found myself being really delicate with them because I was nervous about damaging the black side nets that the laces weave in and out of. It seemed like a good yank would rip them off of the shoe because the laces themselves are so dense and the angle seemed like it would put stress on the side cages. The lace structure is a "looks better than it functions" feature to me.  As a point of reference, the Xr1 cage is much sturdier.

-FIT: They fit me (I'm a 14 or 13.5 in PK NMDs and this was a 13) so there is truth to them running pretty big. That said they were pretty darn snug on the sides. This is a VERY long, narrow shoe. The side cages make the narrowness something less forgiving than the PKs. This means if you have wide feet, you should do a half size down from TTS, and if you have narrow feet do a full size down.

OVERALL: To me this shoe felt VERY different than any NMD I own, in both material and fit. The quality is pumped up a great deal, which speaks to the higher price point and more limited production number. Wearing it, the immediate feeling I got was, "The shoe I have is high quality, and this shoe wants everyone to know it." It was like wearing a peacock on my feet, which speaks to why it is so popular with celebrities at the moment.

I honestly bought this shoe and didn't know if I was going to keep it or resell it for a higher price. Now that I've seen them and worn them in person, I have to say they are one of my favorite shoes and can't recommend them enough.  They'll make a good addition to your collection because they are just so different than everything else.

Anyways hope this helps anyone on the fence about paying resell on these or who needs info for the upcoming colorways releases. Cheers.

*** Just got back from the gym, so pardon the baggy workout pants

That always seems to be the running theme with an ADC drop. Where it seems like they improve one aspect, but seemingly at the expense of another. (Basically a wash)

Thankfully the checkout loops this time around didn't generate ghost charges on my end.

My buddy has 5 ghost charges from checkout loops this morning haha.

I'm personally not a fan of the splash page either, I'd rather they do drops like they did this morning, but only if they can actually make the cart holds work and get rid of the damn payment loop. It's ridiculous that's still an issue.

I also don't think we should start placing much confidence in this being the release method going forward. I bet yeezys still have a splash page and drop the same way as all the previous yeezys have. That's how it was before NMDs and UBs started having splash pages. I get the feeling adidas was trying out the splash page on non-yeezy drops and decided it wasn't worth it. Probably more effort on their part and still getting just as many complaints from customers as before.
